I know yall are really anti-heiner, but these back stories are important to show that he's gone off the deep end mentally. Of course ones mental health issues are never an excuse (i need this vitriol energy directed at some MCs in other stories too lolol), but its an explanation. And it's needed for the story.
For a long time, he's just viewed Annette as an unchanging idol representative of what's good and noble. I'm sure that once things hit the fan in the war (or whatevers about to happen), he changes his view on nobility as his mental breaks but Annette, for better or worse, still represents what's good and noble. He resents that she was able to remain innocent just because she was born to a noble family.
Then the people hate her ofc because it's like a Marie Antoinette scenario. She's ignorant of the struggles.
I'm guessing part 2 of this is going to be her becoming less ignorant and him facing that she's a real person and not just the idol he's envisioned for prob like 20 years as he's been tortured. It'd be absolutely shitty story telling if we just followed Annette here
But I do miss her and I wish it went like back and forth between present Annette and past heiner

I kinda disagree. Not all kisses are hot, and the way this one was shown, I think the intended reaction for the readers was precisely disgust.
I do feel like this is one of the first ones I've read where the FL is actually shown to be conniving. (Like some stories, they are at first but don't keep that energy especially in tricking the ML)

Ok besties I'm confused. So she is the daughter of empress Bertha and the first emperor. The empire is on its second generation of emperors. The current emperor is the first emperors son with another woman and the archdukes brother. Claire is the half sister of the two.
This all makes some little bit of sense to me if I assume the first emperor was pretty young when he had the archduke and kinda old when he had Claire (can someone give me ages where this makes sense especially since he was friends with balt's grandpa).
But WHERE I'M CONFUSED. WHY IN CH 61 IT SAYS THE BERTHA/1ST EMPEROR LOVE STORY WAS KNOWN FOR MANY GENERATIONS? WHAT DO YOU MEAAANNNN? How does this timeline actually make sense pls someone explain it to me I'm dumb

I feel like I read somewhere the current emperor is her uncle who most likely killed her father the previous emperor and stole the throne then tried to get with her mother but her mother only loved her father
See that would make sense, but I thought that the first emperor was with Bertha (the red headed woman) not the second emperor? So is the current emperor the third right now (and one of the gross brothers)?
