It is a lot. She has a tragic backstory full of abuse that has warped her to the max. But it seems like every chance she gets to turn over a new leaf, to have a brighter future, she throws it away in order to climb the social ladder or try and hurt the MC. A lot of that has to do with how her parents raised her, especially her mother, tho her mother was being victimized as well.

This is what I've learned from reading novel updates. Though I wish I could find the novel for this.

To be fair her father was physically abusive. To the point that her father killed her mother. So it is understandable that she'd want to go live in a better place. The rest of it has to do with how her mother twisted her values. Basically Angela is insanely jealous of the MC and thinks that she should have the MC's life. But that is all because of her dead mother. Angela's mother was jealous of the MC's mother because MC's mother had a husband that wasn't abusive. So she filled Angela's head with twisted thoughts and encouraged Angela to posion MC's mother.

Angela killed MC's mother. And Angela killed her father after her own mother's death. The reason why she hates pink is that her mother used to wear long pink dresses to cover the bruises. When her mother died after another one of her fathers fits, her father would make Angela dress up like her mother and beat her too. It was sometime after that started that Angela killed her father and then forged the letter to MC's dad.

She was given a chance but still chose to stay twisted!! Even to person who genuinely cared for! She is just a greedy bitch that coz she suffered no one deserve the world but her tsk!

Yes she did. But she also needs help. It is no different from when a murderer gets a modified sentence because of their mental state. Punishment is still due but a grouping of therapists and phycologists would be needed to unravel her mental hang ups.

Kinda like why Arkham Asylum is supposed to exist. lol Like yes you committed a crime but also you need to be monitored and counseled.

Um i hope u dont feel bad bc having a tragic backstory doesnt make u excuses to destroy a perfectly fine couple and kill the people who took you in and took care of you.

No, not like that at all. But I would say based on her backstory she isn't in her right mind. Like criminally insane. She needs to be locked up and given regular visits by a therapist at this state of the story. Or at least she would get that sort of treatment if this were set in modern day. A laywer could put up a defense for Angela that she is truly mentaly unstable.

Even with the people she has killed before. Her father was killed by Angela because of abuse. Jayna's mother was killed by Angela because Angela's mother told her to do it. Angela persists with ruining Jayna's life because her mother filled her head with the idea that Angela should have Jayna's life. That's not a situation where Angela just decided on her own to be evil. She was molded into it.

She is still evil, should be stopped at all costs, and should be punished. And since Jayna doesn't know these details I don't expect Jayna to show Angela mercy.

But I know these details because I got spoiled on Novel Updates lol. So I can feel sympathy for the character and wonder what would have happend if someone who knew Angela's full circumstances had gotten to her earlier.

And let me be clear. See normally the character in Angela's position doesn't have a backstory that connects them to the MC. Normally Angela is just a heartless bitch. And in this case I am saying that Angela is a heartless bitch but one influenced by outside forces. Her mother(who seems to have been driven insane by her husbands physical abuse) is the main reason. During Angela's childhood she was told that she should be Jayna because her mother deluded herself into thinking that if only she had the opportunity to marry Jayna's dad that she would be stuck with an abusive husband. Angela's mother had little choice in who she marred because it was a marriage arranged by the king. And instead of blaming the king, or blaming her abusive husband she began to blame Jayna's mother. So she raised her daughter to covet Jayna's life. And I think that sorta backstory is enough to assume that Angela is not mentaly stable. That the combination of her fathers abuse(she was beaten as well) and her mother's jealousy made her criminally insane.
