I’d say yes/no. It’s confusing. Idk if the author made it a way to excuse grape, but the sexual content at the beginning is supposed to be a way of alleviating the issues the uke goes through. Like it’s a necessary part of it. And uke doesn’t necessarily want it at first, but then understands he can’t survive or live comfortably without that. But if you stay hooked and read on youll fall in love with the plot and characters. The top actually improves in the best way possible.

This is not a BL, and nor a romance. The story is not providing you with anything because it is not within that genre. I can see why people ship Cedric and Jesse, I'm a shipper myself

But soo many times in media when a man shows affection for a fellow man its portrayed as romantic. Talk about double standards, women can hold hands, say I love you to their best friends and still be seen as straight. But when men does it, oh no! Gay alert!

In the latest chapter the reason why Cedric is quiet about while being questioned about his relationship with Jesse is because one, he doesn't owe any explanation to her— Cedric's personality is just like that. He cares a lot for Jesse, and it's not a crime that people take it in a romantic light!

But it's crazy work to call it baiting, when in reality you have a biased opinion as you have already predetermined them or Cedric's feelings actually to be romantic, making you unable to see past the filter you put on. This applies to a lot of other works like ORV as well.

so what dawg . it doesn’t have to be a romantic obsession. u can take it that way maybe, but jesse has no clear indication of liking either characters in a romantic sense. there’s no harm in shipping them, but im just saying it would’ve been baiting if there was any romantic actions taken and the characters don’t do anything abt it.

i would also say it would be baiting if jesse was explicitly straight yet placed in gay ambiguous situations. thats because it makes the readers think “oh they’re doing gay things but there’s never gonna be explicit bc we know they’re straight”. but he isn’t stated to be straight, he just says he’s never been in any romantic relationships. yall are making this story out to be problematic when it’s just three friends doing random things. we can definitely ship these characters together, but the characters don’t do anything that can be called romantic. the closest thing is the prince saying jesse’s qualities as his ideal type, and that’s it. he’s not blushing or doing anything when he says it.

If it had been a girl one would totally think that they're into her. That's what I'm saying. It can be taken in a romantic sense. And canonically Jesse is pretty oblivious. He doesn't even see that Cedric and Christelle are– let alone romantically, they're barely friendly towards each other. They're more like rivals than anything. Anyway, if you have feelings for someone you'd obviously give them preference even if you aren't actively pursuing them. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

Yes, I understand. I don't think anyone has ever defamed this story or threatened the authors but it might be true for other stories. That's worse than being childish.
