Pretty sure MC's idea of love is different from normal humans anyway. Even god of moon said she's a little bit slow witted. She's an adult now and ig the feelings of dependence just evolved somehow?? Tht being said, i thought the red haired kid would be end game with how early he was shown but the whole thing ended up going "who made me a princess" Route lol.

Just wanted to say u can drop if u dun like him being a colonizer and he did touch her in her sleep (she woke up later tho). Just putting this out here so u don't get suprise. Tarans r supposed to be monsters.

Well not exactly a colonizer because it specific bloodline was already there basically became a colonizer because he sided with people he doesn’t know this part of his history I believe from the past chapters that their place was basically took an over by the people that he’s fighting with now so those natives will probably still there maybe not because he’s also native to specifically Where he is because they did destroy what is country originally was that was there

My point is to get the '' oppss im dropping now. He's a colonizer, he touched her in her sleep'' ppl and 'bring race to every single problem' people drop this faster. Seeing negetive comments kinda ruin my enjoyment from reading so i'ld rather they drop this rather than expecting every single character to be complete angels. They can't seem to look at hugh other than ''their ideal husbando'' so they get suprised whenever hugh's bad points get shown.

Just don’t read the comments? This comment comes off as you being offended over it. Obviously they’re married and you don’t need word for word consent when you want to have sex with your spouse. Also I don’t know where the colonizer comments are coming from, but either way I do agree they should drop it instead of negatively commenting. Just wanted to point out your comment is hardly helping.

Oh no I understand like I meant that he now is as well I just wanted to make a deal on that he also wants was one of the people that was talking from but I do agree with you I don’t really care that much either like I know that my characters that I read about angels and mostly if you read yaui you know that very well because sometimes in their character development some things don’t make sense As well but we have to disregard a lot of stuff because they’re not angels we are reading a story it’s meant to be complicated and you’re right he is bad he can be good he’s not mean roll he’s meant to simulate humans anyways

Wtf? Of course you need consent from your spouse. It's alright to tease a little but if you start having proper sex when they are unconscious then it's not right. They might have had a bad day, gotten harassed outside or simply not in the mood for it. Maybe they are tired that day. Don't know what kind of relationships you've seen but good spouse ask before they do it. It's alright to enjoy something ethically bad in the context of stories and fantasy but don't go around making statements like "when you're married you don't need word for consent". Not every rape is violent and marital rape is genuine problem where spouses just assume that their partner wants sex even when they don't.

Bruh consent is implied unless you explicitly say “No.” At which point, if your spouse continues, then yes it’s rape. Both men and women randomly “jump” their spouses when they’re in the mood. Just because you guys may not be able to grasp what a relationship like that it is, that is the norm in *healthy* relationships. Communication is important, as is consent, but when you’re married you do not have to explicitly ask for consent every time. That’s a great way to kill your sex life. You just say no if you don’t want to, end of story.

We know okay. Don't act like people who are writing these comments are some naive being who have never been in a relationship. Spouses do it spontaneously but still starting it while someone is awake and while someone is asleep is different. Its great if you've talked about it with your spouse before, explicitly saying that you are not against it. But the characters never discussed it because its fiction. Moreover the comments in this thread weren't against the oral sex itself but about another comment which said that word of consent isn't required in marriage. Which is false. It's legally false. Depending upon where you live you just don't need to hear a no but actually have your spouse say yes. Like I said rape isn't always violent. A lot of people freeze up in this situation and don't say anything. Every person is different, nothing wrong with partners confirming consent.

Marital rape is actually extremely difficult to prove for the reasons I stated. Married couples generally have assumed consensual sex; why would you be married to someone you’re not comfortable randomly having sex with? Boundaries are supposed to be talked about *before* marriage; hence why it’s so difficult to prove and why explicit “yes” consent in a marriage doesn’t make any sense.

Maybe it doesn't make sense to you. Makes perfect sense to me. Just because someone is married or in a relationship doesn't mean they are down for sex 24/7. Boundaries, feelings, even bodies change over time. A relationship and the people in it go through changes. Discussing stuff before marriage is great but those things might not apply 2, 5 or 10 years down the line. I know it's hard to prove in court so are other rapes. Rape in general is near impossible to prove if it's not violent. I agree with you that relationships have nuance and people who are very sex positive would feel like asking for consent again and again isn't great for their sex life and that's okay. It can be subjective. The notions of consent and when it is needed are changing. It's shifting from just being about an explicit no to an explicit yes.
In this story they've been apart for so long. Their relationship while good isn't always honest and they are still learning about each other. They weren't in love before they got married and didn't know each other for that long. They haven't had any serious discussions about sex either of their preferences.
Still I'm going to enjoy the sex scenes and I'm not saying anyone who enjoys it in fiction or in real life is wrong. Its just that our feelings and experience on the topic might not hold true for others.

That, I can agree with you. Everyone’s own experience is different. That’s why it grinds my gears when people throw their own opinions at people and characters being completely unaware of how that author wrote them or the context of someone else’s relationship is. Your boundaries are your own; let’s not assume that every married couple requires explicit “yes” consent. That line is mainly to the other people who said otherwise.

Ok fck i didn't expect this huge conversation. For the person telling me not to read the cmts, i don't usually. I just came to read some of us thirsting for hugh. But yah i saw the annoying cmts so i just wanted to tell them to drop this if they dun like it. For the marital rape topic, lucia didn't seem like she minded. But in real life, the most simple way is to talk it out with ur partners. Just tell them what u r or u rn't ok with. If u dun want them to touch u while u r sleeping, make sure u address that before even dating, that u rn't ok with this. Or, if u actually like a wake up sex or kinkier stuffs, make safe words with them. Tell them beforehand that u dun mind this or that. Remember, in some people have force kinks and some r pure vanilla. Respect each other's choices and talk it out with them. If they still do it after u already said that u dun like it, dump that motherfucker.

....did y'all expect a story named ''stockholm syndrome'' to have characters thats not assholes? Like what did u even expect?? Characters with flowers and teddy bear in their head and properly asking another person for consent? Why ya'll chose to read this and not go for other stuffs with fluffy characters just to complain the story for being a stockholm story...
Are you all reading?? Shes being a slave trader so she can help them escape. I know the kurkans r hot but lets focus alil pookies :(´◦ω◦`): also i know most of us r pocs here( or r we?) But ofc the demographic here is racist. It is meant to be racist. The empire literally enslaved a race. It is exactly as it is written. But thats different from the story being racist. The kurkans r written to be strong, free and beautiful. Even us readers are not seeing kurkans in negative light, do we? Just becoz a mystery book have murder cases in it, doesn't mean the book itself cause people to die. Please read. Carefully.
Differentiating between a story and it's characters being racist and the author being racist is really NOT something I would take for granted from people on here.
I have seen too much dipshittery in my years on here to give that benefit of the doubt at this point. :')
[insert vietnam-type flashbacks to ridiculous comments here]
