I am a sucker for an unusual story, and unique visuals, but I’m disappointed by this one. I’m not sure if it’s the translation or if it’s a failure on the authors part but there’s a clear lack of substance with this story. Things happen for the sake of happening and it doesn’t feel like there’s any real method behind what we’re seeing. I also think some of the art choices in the story also aren’t great, the style is gorg is more just how the author choose to protray some things. Again it sucks because I feel like there was a foundation for something great but yeah. The story telling is so weak it makes it hard to sit through

That’s weird for me. It wasn’t even the substance because even I agree with you even if they fix the translations in the type of it still not gonna be that good it reads like you’re lucid, dreaming in a really bad way less of a fever dream more of psychotic episode, I enjoyed it but at the same time I was extremely disappointed as well. It felt like they had the plot to go there. They could go there, but every time they were getting close it just randomly stops and goes absolutely fucking nowhere like the substance the potential 1000% I can see it , but I do agree. It’s a fault of the author because it goes nowhere they don’t follow through. I think the author is trying to find the fine line between two serious when it comes to making this type of fantasy story, adding enough pornographic essence to it without making it overly serious and making them too evil but also we’re trying to keep the fantasy very very loose when it came to the story and because of that they wanted to make a fever dream but it doesn’t feel proper. There’s a way to do it there’s multiple ways, but this did not accomplish it. It’s just like you make characters in your your head. You have multiple thoughts about the story that you want to make but nothing fucking connects, so it never gets to become a story.

Small super slight spoiler warning?
I just read the Raws and imo the story actually gets better, I feel like the starts was super shaky, and I thought this would just be a story about the torture of the MC, based on what I saw there’s a bit more than that, we see the MC family dynamics, the two male leads are actually not terrible by BL standards (I prefer the grey haired one” and I think while reading I started to sympathize with the MC and really root for him. The whole shock factor they had in the beginning of the story rlly didn’t help, but I think the author learned that and tried to write a better story from what I can tell. I don’t speak Korean lol. I’m not saying this story is perfect it’s still too early to tell but I def see potential in it taking off
I’m actually impressed by how the author managed to spin Taeju’s character around. Often times I’ll
Read BL’s with such an asshole male lead and I always wonder to myself “how are they gonna get me to
Like this guy” idk something about Taeju just works so well, I think it also helps that our MC has such a distinct personality it makes their chemistry a lot more interesting to watch. I’m not a fan of “struggle love” and in IRL, I would probably beat Taeju with a baseball bat if I could. But omg in the story, hes great.
I feel like there were glimpses of Taeju's "good" side in the beginning as well. Not from the beginning considering he made Euihyun bleed but later on.
- he fed Euihyun
- got Euihyun a decent job (yes, to trap him, but he could very easily throw Euihyun into a brothel and leave him there)
- ever since the beginning he was rather caring towards Euiyoung
- he offered to drop Euihyun off (chapter 14) and generally offered his "help" in dealing with Euihyun's boss
- he never raised his hand on Euihyun (yes, SA is still terrible but I'm talking physical violence as well)
...and more.
I mean, he could've very easily lock Euihyun in an empty room and use him whenever he pleased.
He was definitely a red flag in the beginning but there were green blades in there now that I'm rereading this.
yes i absolutely love the character development, there were no awkward skips, the improvement of their relationship wasnt linear either, super realistic and unlike typical bl manhwas
Exactly and it’s not like he is gentle when dealing with others in his business … I think that kinda helped me to keep reading and I am glad he is slowly redeeming himself
and when Taeju apologizes that’s it’s not EH’s fault and he knows he is probably blaming himself and that is all taeju’s fault ╥﹏╥
