I've been wondering about that too for a while now. That's probably one of the flaw of this manhwa. But, maybe this is the setting so that it won't be hard for the author and translator and readers to switch languages and it will be easier for characters to do the conversation smoothly.
I’m guessing when they’re in South Korea, everyone speaks Korean, even those that come from a different country. Usually when people go visit another country they either speak/know the language or have a translator. I guess with the world awaken academy they speak the most common language, which is English. This is just my guess. We as readers know what is being said.

ok so present time, right after the last chapter (ch.66), the major event that's going to happen in the rift thingy in the barrier that killed shi mei in the past. but this time, it was cwn who died. moran later found out that all the good things that cwn did for him, including the reason why cwn "left" them in the past, which past!mo ran blamed cwn for shi mei's death. and how present day cwn basically dragged mo ran's body through the steps of sisheng peak to get him to safety, also dying in the process. he remembered how he was in the past when cwn died in his arms as well. he felt nothing, he's empty, unlike when shi mei died and all he felt was rage towards cwn. esp when cwn made mo ran wontons, he threw that away and told cwn he's cheap and heartless for imitating shi mei when he left his disciple to die. then cwn's master came and told them how to bring cwn back to life. mo ran now wants to return the favor of cwn saving him. to do this, he needs to collect cwn's soul. there he found out cwn's kindness towards him, how wrong he was about his shizun. that it was actually cwn who made the wontons that he liked so much this whole time, not shi mei. he now regrets how he treated cwn in the past and vows to treat him better this time, he just needs cwn alive. when did it successfully but cwn needs to be secluded for 5 years. during those years, mo ran wandered about, doing good deeds to ppl to repay his sins in the past, slowly imitating cwn from his actions to his words without him knowing. they reunite again after cwn woke up but moran wanted to treat cwn right this time. but his past still haunts him.
