tyyy i remember reading this a while ago and how the woman fell in love with the emperor, got kidnapped/married, gave birth to children when the emperor didnt want them, and that made him neglectful of them. thats all i understabd but like after that?? the plot just goes array

No actually he didn't kidnap her. They both fell in love with each other. Although she had the ability to grant three wishes to any man that comes to know her real name, he didn't wish for anything up until they had kids. Like they were on a war to unite the empire right? He was doing all that for his wife. So that his wife shines the brightest on the highest position i.e., the emperor. Ayna(the wife/Sorcerer) wanted kids, the emperor was reluctant as many women die while giving birth but since it was his wife wish. They had three kids but the kids were very greedy and selfish and would have killed their mother later in the future because they thought their mother didn't give them anything even though she was a Sorcerer. They were ordinary unlike their parents. The emperor saw the oldest kid talking about how the kid wanted to kill his mother once he becomes the king and that's when the emperor went crazy and wished to kill their sons even if the empress(Ayna) came to hate him. So he killed them and that's how the curse started. The whole empire was under the curse and also all the future generations of the royal family may suffer from it. As you might have seen, the emperor's(Roan) and empress's(ayna) souls are still trapped in the castle due to curse. This is all what happened although the novel was different. I prefer this one anyway over the novel. In the novel emperor didn't love his wife and was just selfish. I'm so glad they changed it. The conclusion is: He was just madly in love with his wife

I'm glad that I could help<3. So those two had three kids. Their kids wanted to kill their mother cause they thought that they were far too normal to be the kids of the first emperor and the sorcerer. They thought that their mother didn't bestow them with any power. Although for a fact she couldn't go around give her powers to anyone cause that's not how it works. The first son went around saying he wanted to kill his mother and the emperor heard him saying that and killed him for ayna's(empress/his wife) sake. The second son who was a bit more timid than the first one, got bestowed with some powers after the death of the oldest son because of the the curse that was put on the descendents of the emperor by the God and I think he died later on as well(?). The third son was still inside Ayna's belly, was born after sometime and ayna sent him far away thinking he would be killed by his father too. She put the third kid in the water he went floating away and was later found by some people and was protected by them since all of the empire's people were under mind control to protect the son. He was absolutely safe because of the powers as well. That's about it
