The story is so good and seme is a green flag too (for now I don't know the future but let's hope he stays green) Uke is relatable too, i mean the insecurities and overthinkkng is represent me lol.. anyway love that they talk and communicate with each other.. Can someone tell me what is this about? I know it's popular bcz of the art but what about the story?
It's popular because it's adapted from a well-loved sci-fi bl novel! It's set in a post-apocalyptic world where the magnetic poles are gone. Most of the world is wiped out by the resulting effects (giant murderous insects, man-eating plants, climate change, mutations,etc).
In one of the danger zones, a little white mushroom gains sentience. He meets the dying An Ze, from whom he learns about the human world and language. When An Ze passes, the little mushroom takes on his form and takes on his name, An Zhe (I believe the chinese characters are different for both names but they sound the same).
He then embarks on a journey to the human encampment in search of his spore. It was taken from him before he met An Ze. All he knows is that a human took his spore and the thief left behind a bullet.
It's a really great novel. It dives into what it means to be human and calls into question our morals and values when it comes to the greater good. Highly recommend.
