holy shit this is the peakest of the peakest of peak straight romance FR. I've been bitching and moaning in my head of how you can almost NEVER escape patriachal power dynamics in straight romance and how it's always a 'woman' falling in love with a 'man' rather than character A and character B falling in love like it is with queer relationships.
THIS FUCKING MANGA THOUGH, It was like an oasis in a desert!!! This healed something in me holy fucking shit. I really don't feel that omg he's a manly man and she's a womanly woman vibes here, their dynamic is not dictated by gender norms and they're genuinely just having fun with it all and aeedhgsgjajshj I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
there's one tumblr post about an author's poorly disguised fetish and stuff and the scene in the last chapter is DEFINITELY that. Manga always does this man, they do the most heinous absurd shit but say pretty dialogues that downplay it and that along with pretty art kinda makes it seem like it's all fine and dandy and makes you almost forget what type of insane clownery is actually happening.
is it just me that thinks the fact that his daughter doesn't know they're divorced is a red flag? I mean, that means his ex wife and him probably live together or at the very least see each other regularly. His and her parents will be involved as well. They're basically still a family bruh.
the art was so good and it was going so well but they had to drop this bomb and mess it up.
That they aren't together anymore, will live separately but still like each other and love you and it isn't your fault ofcourse. Kids aren't stupid, they can handle the truth and they need it if you want them to grow up healthy. Kids will handle anything as long as you give it to them straightforward and don't make them second guess stuff.
All this lying to little kids cuz you wanna protect their feelings stuff is mostly coming from people who haven't seen or been actual kids of divorce irl.
it's probably more to keep the image of family for the sake of his daughter's relationships at school. y'know how everything can be a reason to get bullied or mistreated in SK so i think the dad was just being cautious so as to not have his kid be a single parent child that would get treated differently at her school or kindergarten. asian societies are still kinda close minded when it comes to these things but they're changing

peak. simply peak. I wish I read these kinda manga when I was younger instead of toxic rape stuff that is for some reason pretty mainstream T-T. Friends to lovers is superior in straight romance and nothing will change my mind after this.
