So I just finished reading the I'm a Search and Rescue Officer reddit thread and I'm here to get some cuteness to relieve my anxiety and calm my nerves. My dogs are all in my room, too, and I'm telling myself that they're are my guardians and are here to protect me. Reading this manhwa definitely helps calm me down. Especially after the stairs. Don't read if you can't handle anything freaky like... I can handle horror pretty decently but not accounts like the ones provided. Either way the cuteness of this helps and so does all the hot men

Everyone says this story gives them Ghibli vibes but the vibes are more Final Fantasy-ish imo, though it also does feel Ghibli-ish too. The outfits remind me a lot of the outfits in the games that Akihiko Yoshida worked on. The art style also reminds me of Akihiko Yoshida's work too. I'm really enjoying the story though it does seem a little confusing at times considering we're still in what's most likely the early-mid stages of the story.
The characters are really well developed and I really like how it shows relationships being both healthy and unhealthy. Ephie and Bibi's relationship is a bit of both, being formed on codependency. At times that codependency hinders their relationship a lot but at other times it pushes for their growth. The characters relationships with the previous witch, Flo, are often explored too and do heavily influence how they think, act, and behave towards Ephie.
There's also a strong theme in the story against organized powers having too much control, which is often seen irl and in history through current/past political and religious organizations in power. Another recurring theme is that of loneliness which is shown throughout the two main protagonists

I'm reposting this in depth analysis I made a chapter or so ago cause y'all are hypocrital clowns defending Aquila cause he's hot and you want your currently highly toxic ship to sail. Like uwu oh no, Lamia is being an asshole and hurt Aquila's feelings and is spiteful because he brutally attacked and disabled her beloved brother. Come on y'all like? Seriously? This is clown shit.
Anyway here's my last post cause y'all are pissing me TF off and kinda ignore the civil and nicer part. I'm bashing y'all I this updated prelude because y'all don't fucking get it even when I'm more nice about things:
Uriel is a highly complex and well-done character who gets repeatedly bashed for his behavior and trauma, which I feel is highly realistic given his experience and environment. He is given a lot of shit by many of you readers because a lot of you simply want your ship to sail and/or just don't take a step back and look at him and his situation from a broader and more empathetic perspective. I get angry and pissed off a lot because of it and I will continue to call y'all out to unpack your shit but this post will be more tame, informative, and analytical.
Uriel has PTSD that is accurately portrayed by this manhwa. He experiences extreme anxiety when presented situations in which he has to think or deal with Aquila and his disability. He goes through several flashbacks surrounding his trauma and when confronted by Aquila after his coronation, he is appearing to be triggered to the brink of a panic attack and hyperventilation. He is beyond traumatized and his emotions, trauma, experience, and actions are all valid and should not be harshly criticized as they are.
After this current update, many of you are pointing out that Uriel is going about his wish the wrong way and that he should forgive and work towards creating a better relationship with Aquila. No way in hell should he do that. He is not obligated to do any of that. Sure, it'd eventually benefit his self growth if he accepts and allows himself to experience more peace about the aftermath of his trauma but he never needs to forgive Aquilla if he does not wish to. He never needs to reform a relationship with Aquilla after his trauma. No one should expect anything of him regarding how he handles his trauma and feels about Aquila after he begins to heal.
Further regarding people's opinions of his wish to never see Aquila again, it is not juvenile and bad of him to make that wish. He is not far in his self growth, acceptance, and mental health journey for multiple reasons. One of them being is the environment that he is in. As this past chapter has shown, Uriel has been mistreated and neglected his whole life. He has never really had a strong support system from anyone but probably Lamia. And after the brutal attack on him, the environment became even more hostile towards him. People began to react and behave even more negatively towards him in fears of their social, title, and power standing changing. The power change that could have and has arisen due to the incident has greatly increased that hostility towards him. Many do not like him as is, and many also see him as greatly unfit for being the heir and upcoming lead of the Orphe family. His position switch also goes greatly against societal norms as the first born becomes the head of the family and the second born becomes a knight regardless of their gender.
Self growth, acceptance, and healing are hard enough to achieve and improve even in a healthy environment and strong support system. And Uriel has none of that. He has not had proper time to heal and probably will not have that for a long time, if ever. It's highly unrealistic for anyone to expect him to handle his trauma currently in a manner that is more healthy towards his mental health (acceptance of the situation).
I see some people in the comments trying to excuse and validate Aquila's actions towards Uriel because of Uriel's outlook on life and behavior at time of Aquila's attack. Having a strong sense of idealism and being a little naive does not warrant a brutal "life lesson" designed to change his outlook on life and show how cruel it can be. It is not a crime. It never will be. Uriel also could've learned more about how the real world functions through other less harmful and scarring means. He could've learned it not through betrayal at the hands of someone he trusted and defended. Because of it, he is forever changed, scarred, and traumatized. He is completely marred by the events that he has experienced.
Nothing will ever justify what happened to him. It doesn't matter if Aquila's goal is to protect and save Lamia from what we don't exactly know was her fate in her past life. We don't even know whether Aquila's actions in this time will even lead her to a better date. Regardless, Aquila could've probably found a better means to change the possible bad fate Lamia experienced in her past life that doesn't leave her beloved brother disabled and scarred.
Many of you readers are also not disabled which further gives you no room to talk or judge the trauma and experience surrounding a person's disability. A disability that comes from a drastic change like the one Uriel faced can be incredibly devastating and detrimental especially when it completely changed everything about your life like it has done to Uriel's. He is no longer to live out the role he's been assigned into since birth. He is no longer to do something that he probably also enjoyed as shown through flashbacks about his
I also see many people get pissed off and frustrated with Lamia's behavior, feelings, and actions towards Aquila but they are also highly valid and should not be bashed on. It is highly unrealistic to expect anything but what she has shown and acted out on. What would you do if some man all of a sudden pops up pledging to help you after brutally attacking, disabling, and traumatizing your beloved brother? Would you forgive him and treat him better and want a more positive relationship with him like you guys expect Lamia to do? No. You wouldn't. In fact, you probably don't even forgive most other people who have done far less to a friend or family member. So don't expect some magical forgiveness towards Aquila from anyone in the Orphe family.
It is also highly shady that Aquila only healed Uriel's hand and apologized for his behavior AFTER Uriel's coronation. It feels like it is leading up to the revelation of a scheme between Aquila and someone that was designed to obtain the result of Uriel and Lamia switching roles for whatever reason it was desired and needed.
Yes, I know you want your ship to sail. But if you want it to be done it needs to be done properly, which will take an insane amount of time, patience, and redemption. Even then, can Aquila ever really make up for his atrocious actions? Can he ever really repent for them? Honestly it's highly unrealistic that Lamia could even be involved with Aquila romantically after the events that transpired. If anything, the only realistic outcome would probably be a neutral relationship or an ally ship in the face of a common, bigger enemy. So stop bashing the characters of the comic who do not deserve it. Be more realistic with your views and expectations of the characters mentalities, behaviors, and actions in this manhwa. Be more open minded, understanding, and empathetic. Uriel needs empathy more than anything, even if you readers won't impact him as he is still only a fictional character. Do his character justice.

Look, I pity him too, being told to die/disappear/never have spring come for you by someone you love is sth I wouldn't wish even on my worst enemy. But we can't deny that he basically had it coming. Like cmon, what did he expect? That if he explained Lamia would just be like "Aaaaaaah ok I get you boo, omg you did this for me I love you Aquila"
NO, the bastard ruined her brothers hopes, dreams and aspirations and gave him straight up PTSD, just like the OP mentioned above. Aquila deserves to suffer the consequences of his actions cause Karma is a bitch. Anyone feeling pity for him is relatable, but straight up justifying his actions? Not ok at all, you sick clowns

So I'm kinda pissed off RN ngl, halfway through chapter 12 and the ML is calling the MC petty for all of her plastic surgery and rating others women's faces. She's a fucking victim of the toxic environment she lived in and should not be criticized at all. I feel like crying out of frustration reading it all. My heart aches for our MC. For anyone who goes through bullying and judgement because of their appearance. Their actions after that are simply defense mechanisms made in order to try and protect themselves. Sure, some, if not a lot, can be toxic and perpetuate into the harmful ideals of the overall environment but STILL. You need to be empathetic and loving, especially to the victims. How are they supposed to start healing and growing and accepting if someone doesn't start to help them? If all you do is tear them down then of course there won't be much self improvement. I wanna punch out the ML like who the fuck are you to talk? Stop acting all high and mighty and take a look at it from her perspective she was constantly physically, verbally, and emotionally bullied since she was little. Of course she's gonna be beyond scarred and want to completely reshape her face. So fuck off if you aren't gonna show kindness. Y'all say he's logical well he's not using his logic. Being logical is being able to properly assess the situation and he has not done that. If he did he would be able to easily connect the dots surrounding Mirae's change and react appropriately. He's just an opinionated dick

Ishid is a very vulnerable and insecure character and I'm digging having an ML like him. We rarely see men being portrayed like he is being portrayed and it's refreshing. Ishid is definitely a little extreme though and it does get uncomfortable at points. Another thing that does but me tho is the fact that it feels like Yumifer is completely fixing him and I hope he starts doing a lot of the leg work soon and we also get an opportunity to see him help her out and help her heal from something. I love seeing truly honest and open relationships like that where both partners mutually help each other in their self growth journeys.
So I'm confused by the comments, is this actually BL or are people just shipping? :o
just shipping
Just shipping
cause we're all simps that are very deprived of human intimacy
so we try to experience it through 2d characters
We're just living a dream... sadly...
LOL ALL THESE COMMENTS RIP
