I get that Penelope is our FL so we can't help but love her, support her, and wish the best for her after all she's been through. BUT EVERYONE IS IGNORING THAT SHE'S THE ONE WHO USED HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE. Of course Eclis would've eventually noticed that Penelope was just trying to please him and that would be upsetting for anyone cause you're basically living a lie. Yes, it was wrong of him to go behind her back because if it was truly love rather than an obsession, he would've consulted her first. But they were both being selfish, yet all everyone looks at is Eclis's betrayal, when Penelope betrayed him first in a way (〜￣△￣)〜
Has no one felt bad for Eclis in the earlier chapters? Being a slave and looked down on and being used by Penelope? Because I don't remember him having been a necessarily bad person back then.
I do admit however that Eclis's reason for betraying Penelope is harder to justify than Penelope using Eclis all along. Penelope has just been trying to survive as best she can but Eclis... Well he just wanted to have Penelope to himself essentially which can't really be seen as a good reason (⊙…⊙ ). BUT MY POINT IS that I don't get how you can hate Eclis but love Penelope because it just feels a little hypocritical when they are both victims as a previous comment stated. My two cents ig ╥﹏╥
