The confession takes some time, but the romance is slowly developing, and they have cute moments together. The male lead knows that he is in love with the FL at the end of season 1, around chapter 50. Still, it's a good read if you haven't already read it :)

On ch 24. Is this worth it? I already donāt rlly like the main characterās personality. Sheās tooā¦dainty for my tastes. She is weak physically and seems like sheās weak mentally too. She wants to be determined to do something but she lets fear get ahold of her so easy and makes her intentions extremely easy to read like how is she not sussed out from the get go? Only explanation is that he already knows her (he was prob in animal form and she took care of him) or he time traveled and this is his second life. The former seems more likely to explain his behavior toward her from the get-go. Anyways, I donāt want any spoilers, I just want to know if itāll get interesting or if the mc gets strongerā¦at least mentally. Maybe Iāve been reading too many badass mcās lately that this weak mc is pissing me off..?

While I would normally agree with you, this is the one case where the author has made me feels it's a believable conclusion. If we're talking abt the Cardinal, we can't use logic; he lives his whole life based on the fact *God has given him another chance at life.* To him, he has died once and has been brought back by God Himself-- and although this seems mostly metaphorical, to him it is very much literal; he's a very cunning, intelligent guy but his religiousness and absolute belief in God comes first and foremost in regards to his character. And, who knows? Maybe it WAS divine intervention. IDK where the author is taking this.
But besides that (the Cardinal's belief as to what happened to him), I think it's because Shuri is not *only* overly confident, but also mostly correct, and truly someone that changed completely from one day to the other. Everyone notes on how she was "trembling" one day, but taking complete control of her life the other. It really is more "out of the blue" than you'd think possible, too, given her age.
I understand where you are coming from but I still donāt believe that he would think that this is her second life. Like mb āgod or someone helped herā or āshe can see the futureā or smth like that, but I doubt heās thinking āthis is her second lifeā. The Cardinal didnāt go back in time like she did. He was simply saved from drowning (mb by god or it couldāve totally been by a character who is involved in the story which would be a nice twist >:3 ). Anyways thatās why even tho he had āa second chance at lifeā, it is no where near the same as her āsecond chance at lifeā which is why I believe that he wouldnāt of thought of that possibility even with his deep faith. That makes sense, but didnāt the Cardinal only know that it was Shuriās second life after she told him in the confession booth? I thought the Cardinal knew that she went through divine intervention but wasnāt sure what exactly it was, only that she suddenly became a different person.
Technically yeah, that's when he got the confirmation it was her second life, but the way he talked about her (how she'd changed and etc) was as if he suspected as much, or suspected something similar. Iirc he says something about how "it seems she's lived through this before", or "knew what was going to happen", or something?? But at that point it was in pure speculation, ofc. He definetely believed she had been "touched by God" and "given a second chance" like he had, but the exact way that happened was largely speculation on his part; the way I interpret it is that his way of pushing his own narrative (what he thinks happened with himself) onto Shuri is what makes him be able to suspect this.
But depending on how this is expanded upon in future chapters I may be proven wrong tho lol

Iām going to act like the murderer side of him is a split personality he didnāt know about, born from the torture he had to go through for the past 30 years. How is it that when Isaac was on lockdown at Leoās mansion, he couldnāt escape, but apparently the split personality could go in and out of the mansion to commit more murders without getting caught????
