Hmm not too sure but from what I understand is that it’s bcuz some pat of him probably treasures and loves the bond they had as rlly rlly close friends- best friends and that in some way feels nostalgic about it and sometimes misses the feeling¿.. or the phrase the raw have cant be directly translated to english which caused the need to use different terms and ‘shame’ was the only one close to its meaning

I think he meant the comfortable relationship they had. Haruma is very aware of ryohei now and shy/bashful. Ryohei seems to be wishing they could still act like natural friends in school like they did 2 years ago when around others. I took it to mean that he wishes that the 2 year gap had never happened at all and that their relationship had just smoothly transitioned from friends to lovers.
