The chapters are so short! I tried to let this sit and marinate for like 10 chapters and I feel like I only read 1 chapter at the end of it (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
This is so well written that I love the flow of the whole thing. My only complaint is that I didn’t find this later in the series so I can binge read it lol

A little more detailed answer:
At Pennys coming of age ceremony, there’s a part where she and her family members are supposed to toast to celebrate her. Derek comes in late and brings Yvonne(who was banned from coming by the father). I think the dad didn’t want to make a scene so he let her join since she was already there. Penny noticed that Yvonne’s cup had poison and realized that Yvonne was going to poison herself and make it look like Penny poisoned her. So penny ended up grabbing Yvonne’s cup and drinking it in front of everyone during the ceremony and immediately spits out blood and passes out.

Bunny dude was also there(the magician)
Bunny dude gave penny a necklace a long time ago that lets her know when she’s in danger. She happened to wear it during her ceremony. Both penny and the bunny dude saw her necklace react and therefore knew that her drink was poisoned. Bunny dude knows that penny knowingly drank the poisoned drink but he didn’t know why. He also just happened to have the antidote to the poison that penny drank.
Calisto was the first to react when Penny drank the poison. He also was mad at everyone for reacting too slow. He also brought penny to his mansion to recover and told everyone that he and penny were engaged (≧∀≦)
Ahhhhhhhhhh OMG I can't wait i hope the wizard doesn't think Pen poisoned Yvonne because of what she got from him ? What even was the liquid she got from him was it also poison?? I think I need to read the novel would you happen to have a link to it ?
I believe he thought that penny was planning to poison Yvonne somehow but was surprised that she herself drank the poison. He didn’t know that it was Yvonne that had the maid bring out the poisoned drink.

I’ve skipped reading every since the “real” daughter came back because I couldn’t handle the drawn out hardship penny was gonna go through I cried during the novel and did not want to relive it here. I’m glad I came just in time for calisto to return!
While I will prob still be tearing up for what’s to come, at least it won’t be over the disrespect and neglect our poor penny had to go through with her damned family. Those chapters felt like depression with no end my poor penny
