I liked it at the begging because it fullfill all my expectations but that's the problem. I like this manga because things never go how you want. For example: Touma is gay and can't do anything about it and people hate it. Because that's how life works: people sometimes don't want to understand. But that make him want to change but at the final he understans he is like that. There's no more.
But this final? Yes but it doesn't makes sense. Masumi is bisexual? I need background, she make us believe that she hate be with a men and is not natural for her. Touma and Ichinose? Okay, maybe the feels of Ichinose regarding Touma change it with time or idk. Life is something weird and difficult at make you realise things about you that you didn't understood before but...You just put it like that? Where's the development? It just pop it!
The final was ok but it feels we lost a lot of things. ¿How Masumi fell in love with that man? How Ichinose discover that he was really in love with Touma? Ichinose not going to the wedding I can understand in someway (He didn't contact her in a long time and maybe the groom feel a bit uncomfortable and Futaba decided to not invinting him but it still seems off.) But it just...feel the final just...pop it.
Sorry for the grammar.
If people want to drop this for the actions of Lucius (which can easily be explained btw) when the history is about Paulina, you belong to the streetz (=・ω・=)
How she becomes who she is and how she discovers love and lost in the way, for me is what is about this story. Paulina does not have a magic powers or has been reborn, she is just her and the problems that lives throw at her. She is a woman, and she decides that it does not mean anything for what she wants to accomplish. She understands that, yes, her society does not agree and put the thing difficult for her, and she may not be the strong knight or things all go in her own way, but she has earned her place with hard work and fulfil her duties because she has passion for them. She explores, thinks and debate. Furthermore, she is not just 'show them that she also can', she is proud of her power, intelligence, strength and his emperor after being sent to war just to die and work under idiots in her original country; she is just no surviving in their 'world', she is living. She likes being an aunt, a knight, a boss, a friend, a comrade and a subject even though it comes with a lot of obligations.
For the chapter 106 she is filthy rich and powerful, has the respect of his soldiers and comrades even when she is foreign (Except Aino, but he does not respect anyone), a title that politically people can't cough at her directly and a lot of people who trust her for her etic of work. And you know it wasn't easy, and it took a lot of time! Yes, people still gossip about her, she is just protecting the wives when she wants a more active role but things are far better and life is not always what we want! Other women admire her because she 'jump' the wall of society but in reality for Paulina she just climb something it was on her way, she didn't magical have all this things.
She is not perfect; she is very insensitive, rude, hesitates due to fear, gossiper and violent but gosh... She is so her and how she interacts with others, that you can only simp. And Lucius can have many POVs, but he is just a bystander (like Watson of Sherlock Holmes) from where we can look Paulina and fell in love with her like him. He takes decisions because he does not live for Paulina even if he wants to, it's call having obligations.
You can see all the spoilers what you want but If you don't see why Paulina ended up where where she ended up, you will lose a lot about her character and a very important part of her life. About making wrong decisions and difficult ones, escaping is not always a good decision and sometimes love is about accepting you can be loved (Though I accept this is a bit weak but because our Paulina is just...herself but god what ending.)
This conment is what i've been waiting for. You have the perfect understanding of the story.
ugh yes the perfect analysis of our pol
Do you know the end? I don't want to know too much, only whether either Pauliana or the emperor dies, and whether they'll end up together or not.
Shh, enjoy the way and the waiting.
does anyone know what the chapter of the novel the manhwa ends on?
This chapter 106 of the manwha is the chapter 180 of the novel. I read it here: https://daonovel.com/novel/the-emperor-and-the-knightess-novel/
Don't panic for the number of chapters, they are short xd
I see that you're a sadist. ( ̄∇ ̄")

Thanks for the link. (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
I browsed the novel so harddd!! The authenticity in the characters' emotions is CHILLING!!! Like, there I was, rooting for a confession, until it came and I was like, "Omg, I didn't even think about the consequences for her...I failed you, Pauliana". This is so complex, I feel bad for wanting to rush them into eternal happiness. Σ( ̄□ ̄||)
