In this specific case I think it's just poor writing, Iori has no other memories of chika other than when they were young so the grown up Iori seems like they are hyper focused on child chika, but we do see him fantasize about what a grown up Chika would be like in the first chap. So it might be safe to say the author wasn't trying to promote weird child idol inclinations....but this is BL....
I agree with the child idol thing, I really wish that would stop there's really no need.
I don’t really think it’s evil/perverse as you’re making it seem. How many girls as kids were in love with Justin Bieber, the Jonas Brothers, Dylan & Cole Sprouse, etc and are still big fans of them. Those girls aren’t adults in love with the minor version of them. They matured into adults & the artists matured into adults as well. How many 20-something’s are in love the Jonas brothers and are going to their reunion concert ?
now i agree that a child idol is crazy. but you're making it sound problematic when it's just a childhood crush lol. also not everyone into idols has to be sexually attracted to them to begin with.
child idol is literally taboo, no one agree with that shit here but see how uke literally just admired ml bcs he WAS an idol regardless yet not even once did he goon to ml now thinking about he was a kid or some shit but you’re here trying so hard to turn it into something problematic. idols obsession exists, it’s a worldwide issues not just on gay rainbow mangas so surprise, welcome to the internet and real world.
The story really started to meander towards the end and the conclusion was disappointing. I don’t even care about age gap if the story is told well enough but this one just fell into stupid old tropes.
Still, I’d like to read a spin-off with the school friend Anegasaki.
This story was really unsatisfying. It was so melancholy you don't even feel happy about the ‘main’ couple kinda sorta confirming their feelings. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad, in a way it was realistic, but it just didn’t feel “right”.
Ok but why is no one talking about how weird it is that uke is a teenager still obsessing over a literal CHILD idol
And why are child idols even a thing in the first place??
I think of it as how some people’s favorite characters are young anime characters for example killua.. but idk

I don’t think it’s really supposed to be perverted or something it’s more like she was his inspiration and stuff
