ngl the styling for the fl is so not it the ml has a gorgeous style but i feel like the villianess kind of dresses are being pushed onto the fl and it just doesnt suit her because of her blond hair and purple eyes. Like her face alr stands out yk? so when she wears dark colors ( like the dress she wore at the banquet or whatever) it just looks so bad i love it when she dresses in lighter colors or more muted colors, it rlly enhances her beauty
idk i feel like it's good styling! while i do think she often looks better in lighter colors, i think the dresses serve more purpose than being purely aesthetic -- they help portray the mood of the story. i also agree that her black dress didn't really enhance her beauty as much as some of her other dresses but i think the dark colors really shows how serious and adamant she was to break up her engagement. i also think she's wearing more dark clothing because she's wearing clothes that SHE personally likes, rather than what that bastard liked to see on her. also interesting to see a bit of contrast between what you refer to as a 'villainess' type outfit and her caring, peppy personality
also the styling for ml before fl came into the picture was just black and dark clothes idk if i think that's the peak of character styling either haha we've seen so much of that dark cold northern duke and colorful bright protag that i think changing it up is nice.
You are so right abt that but like but something about the dresses are not serving, i obviously don't want her to go back to the girly cutie style her ex liked. i think its the fact that she has such bright eyes, that when she wears something quite clashing it just doesn't digest well. Its also why i liked the duke's outfits more, he has a more 'plain' appearance (even his blue eyes aren't as sparkly as fl's) so when he wears so many layers and jewelry it works in his favor. I wasn't talking abt anything in the plot because ik why the author chose those outfits for that specific moment. The reason why i said villianess, i meant the author dresses her in typically bold, stand out clothes.
More romantic clothes would suit her perfectly like chapter 21, even in darker scenes she would look better with clothes from ch 23 (maybe her hair and makeup done more intensely to portray the scene better) Im just so obsessed with color theory, undertones and stuff like that. that i ended up blabbering but i rlly love this manhwa i just wish that the author pushed the more romantic and elegant style on the fl instead of going for bold styles out of nowhere

like i haven't read the main story but the red hair guy always responds to situations by shouting or hitting, i think in the past he was always ignored when using calmer ways to get attention hence believes that aggression is the only way to catch someone's attention. From some of his internal dialogue he believes ppl can only like someone if they have money or sexual attraction. No love or otherworldly experience can fix it because his perspective on love is already twisted.
