you can download the comico app and read them for free. It easier to install on android and on ios you have to make a japanese apple id to get it from the app store. There’s the website too https://www.comico.jp/articleList.nhn?titleNo=29541 but i don’t think you can get free points to read the chapters unless you use the app

This has been concluded for a while. The ending, at best, is "sorta optimistic depending on how you look at it". Overall it's viewed as tragic and sad, which is why I think previous translators dropped it. Bottom line, the 2 main characters as we know them now don't survive.
