I think sensei decided out of nowhere to pull this twist on us. Only in this chapter does Ren’s design look feminine before we all thought Ren was male. I think Hino sensei just felt like changing Ren’s sex. Also what was Kaien really? I doubt we would ever get answers to that right now.
