The step sister tried to kill herself by jumping into the ocean. female lead saw it, called the boys about it and immediately jumped into the ocean trying to save her but it did not work out because of the rocking waves. So they were both drowning under the water. Female lead was deeper in the water than the step sister. when Malee lead dived into the ocean to save them both, he saw female lead first, made eye contact but swam past her to save the step sister :((( female lead was absolutely heartbroken then she blacked out in the ocean.

I think it makes sense now. she's afraid she'll be a burden to him or hurt him because she doesn't know what's wrong with him in the first place. i mean, he went missing for a whole week. of course, female lead would be anxious & worried. she wants to be a place of comfort for him too but he doesn't want to burden her. if they've continued how they were, both parties will get eve more hurt and there will be even more misunderstandings. its easy to say that female lead should "trust" male lead more, but in reality its actually hard if male lead doesn't open up. in the end, they're just two idiots in love.
this story is getting so GOOOOOOOOD. im guessing it's the grey haired guy who did all of that, from spreading rumours to starting the fire. he's kinda sus. i only trust the female lead's best friend and no one else.
the story was cute at first but now it's just annoying. I hate reading male lead's inner thoughts. it seems like he loves her but he easily said he wants to quit right after one misunderstanding & he's ready to pounce that other girls any minute now. hope there's a scene where the author puts him to a test. For example he goes to a hotel with that other girl only for him to refuse her advances in the end. Only if he does this I can believe he does not or will not cheat on female lead. And c'mon now second male lead, where are you. I need the male lead to suffer.
