For her abuser to suddenly change his attitude towards her and act accepting or pitiful, it is like burrying all those trauma, despair, sadness that she had to go through at such a young age which she didn't deserve. I mean, I'm sorry but we all know that Jace is working so hard despite his injured body for money. And that money could give him the comfortable life he wants. Not to mention that money is Jace's payment for the private tutor work. What gives you any idea that you are allowed to HOLD onto it? Now that's fucked up.
I know that his grandfather just wanted to maybe pressure him or let him 'see' how it is to have a 'competition' for the heir of the yakuza, but it was too cruel to let that said 'heir' barge into the house and act like he already is. All in all they are still a 'family', the grandpa should think that it would hurt his grandson when he thinks that he's being replaced. And the fact that he also let him enroll in the same public school as him, was too much. Since he gave him two weeks for the decision, he should've at least done it in a way where the grandson didn't feel like everything was taken away from him and that he was slowly getting pushed out of the family.
