the author definitely set up the situation like that to justify raping the mc, could’ve written it differently and you can’t tell me otherwise! No seriously out of all these cliche bls and toxic asf bls while this has notes of toxicity it touches on real young people issues like ‘dating & sleeping with older people’ cause you think it’s cool or it’s what’s happening, doing drugs and partying, actual sexual and romantic relationships between people of the same age who are all going through something and it’s showing each of their stories, yes there’s lots of cheating and whatnot but if you think about it as a teen boy duh ofc they think they can solve all their problems by sleeping their way through them and then they spiral and that’s what these characters are doing, lucky they have supportive friends too and parents who worry for them, it’s very hard to come across stories like this especially with the pattern of abuser x victim Stockholm syndrome “love” bls where they have friends who don’t interfere at all or worry that their friend is constantly abused or like no signs of caring if they get kidnapped and ppl eat that shit up and say “yeah this is so good” just cause the character is drawn to be physically attractive wtf so annoying anyway rant over
