You can do both. Pity him, but also acknowledge his fault in this like he himself is.
Tbh I can forgive just because he atleast admitting and says he’s gonna do right by her from now on unlike some other ml I know
That would matter more if he wasn't at fault. It was his choices that hurt her, she's now done with him and he's saying now he's going to treat her right without asking her for forgiveness like he said he would. It really just sweeps what he did under the rug, like he's TAKING a 2nd chance rather than being given one and he's only going to acknowledge what he did NOW because she remembers everything.
