It's more about his demeanor rather than is physical appearance. This manga would be such a gem to my collection if a person with strong attitude like him to be a bottom.

I know it's a preference but considering the story, it's clear the taller one has issues about his height and clearly wanted to be spoiled/pampered but thinks he isn't cute anymore. It's a contrast to Takaomi who's short and takes the lead.

Basically, a power bottom isn't something Habuka is looking for. It'd work in another story but not this one. I'm more of a switch person myself but this feels like a BL manga that'll continue to double down on fixed positions.

Yes, I get it. The story will progressed more smoothly (and less confusion) if Takaomi were the bottom. The other will feel conflicted whether he actually wants to embrace or to be embraced--and by or to whom.
I like switch roles too, but it's harder to find rather than bigger bottoms.
