“Yozora no sumikko de” and the sequel “Yoake ni Furu” from Hayakawa Nojiko are gorgeous and kinda have a vibe like this story. Also, I think “Slow starter” and it’s sequel “slow days” (from Ichikawa Kei) are like this too, but I’m not sure about this one… It's been a long time since I read those mangas.
