Coz i was always on the edge about his parents breaking off due to finance. I fill the gap with "ofc issues pile up esp with a great loss of money" but seeing the author acknowledge it a follow up from.the kid to establish their filial ties above financial issues takes the cake.
Tho with the mc being that active in participating in such legalities, at this point even detective conan has more sense in being a kid while steering the adults lmao
My guy tatekawa built a world full of love for him, he who was abused and insecure. Tatekawa's body might have faded but this very world has been his love for the MC and loving a "copy" of him doesn't make their love any less meaningful. It's also almost like loving the closest imitation of the OG and the lacking traits being shared by the whole world (80% in Yan, 20% in other people who loves the MC, too)
As a character, ML is consistent about "I get what I want" and is already patient enough to be in control of his urges when he was still hospitalized. In the side story, MC (as if still unaware by ML's temper) not only ignores informing ML, he also gets into another trouble.
Like actually, why aren't people more concerned that ML manipulated everything since day one to drag him back into the syndicate and claim him. Why romanticize a "consented" sex when consent has been a myth since the day they separated from childhood?
If he was so consistent about getting what he wants, why didn’t he pounce on mc when he was going to confess to sunbae? Or after mc came back to him, to “secure” their relationship?
Istg all this “Sehyuk always been like this” is really starting to piss me off, i fucking hate when authors add the rape shit to their stories and people go like “yeaa he had it coming tho”
no he’s fucking not
You're proving my point that he had been patient enough. On the flip side, the MC has always been dense and forgetful, we literally have a chapter of ML saying "this is the kind of guy you liked". It's not about justifying "rape" itself but explaining why dubcon isn't so surprising and actually, yes, the MC DID have it coming because he already recognized that ML would DO as he SAYS. Every side character told him he was special (despite not feeling special by his own standards), that the ML's desire has been on a high even like when he was fetchig the MC at the hideout, and ML had warned him to STAY BY HIS SIDE.
It's actually more hypocritical to expect a healthly BDSM-like sex in a story where the ML has been an established immoral stalker, murderer, manipulative, and possessive "lover". And, it's easier to scold the author for not making the MC wiser as the "mad dog owner" who's been made aware of his mad dog's tendencies yet continue to provoke his instincts.
Quite honestly yes. Tho I dont wanna be under fire for "justifying rape" or justifying harm in general.
The author aimed for it. Im only explaining what led to the rape and how some readers ought to realize that their expectations of the ML is clashing with how he was characterized to be. We already knew how twisted the ML was, it's just stubborn denial to cry injustice or be disgusted when he commits an act equal to murder, manipulation, and mental trauma.
It perfectly embodied "life and death are the opposite faces of the same coin" both literally (the condition at the mountain) and in principle. He kept dying to live and lived to die. Just as she lived to die but died to continue living. And it's not so sad coz they had purpose, making it all the more grotesquely beautiful.
Heck, he was reborn after a beautiful death and she lived to her golden age after dying. ┗( T﹏T )┛
So he gets a boost in the abyss. He has a "limit break". He can fight a god's messenger equally (or with a little struggle). And he's got a lot of skills... but in some ways, i'm also confused by the girls' powers esp the rabbit HAHAHA. I'm just chilling with the battle scenes coz somehow the skills are both random and flashy (maybe my memory is just so bad).
(Let me rant about "i read spoilers, the harem is trash" coz if your opinion isnt from READING it, don't clog the comments)
Also, are there other unique comments here who read the tags, fine with it, and read it coz HAREM doesn't bother them. The girls aren't even useless (the bunny will frustrate you but Shea will improve). They all flirt for his attention but at the end of the day, theyre companions who want to stay with him. He even got a whole chapter dedicated for respecting their feelings to stay but also he wants them to leave if they'll just hurt or change themselves by staying. Like?? Talk about the harem being trash IF YOU READ IT UNRAVEL that way instead "i read spoilers" which is hearsay and negatively pushing away readers without having read it for yourself.
I remember hating it when the bunny was being the "stupid" type and dropped it until I pushed thru and realized she's actually cool. The ladies have personality beyond "daddy, fuck me" and the male lead also has a solid character instead of "btch. Im the main character, ofc girls love me".
It's not the "God, when?" Feeling, but the satisfying contentment that somewhere out there are couples who genuinely care for each other in the most gentlest ways, growing more affectionate as years go by. It's when I can put the fiction away and feel like the world outside can be this beautiful and warm.
I don't want to sound poetic (as if I can anyway), but it's like chicken soup for the soul—a positive influence that doesn't necessarily make me want to look for a partner. Instead, it already fills my heart with love (and ngl, it calms me down a lot. Like, how is that possible lol)
As if their personal flaws aren't enough as conflict, they add an obnoxious follow up. Here I was thinking the high school scum was a foreshadowing, but no. We get a worse example of backstabbing btch. Our glasses holder doesn't communicate. Our glasses loving fool is too spineless. Our cool cousin can't even confront properly. And of course it's because the author liked this white haired "pitiful" character and hence gave him more spotlight to show off his insecure and scheming wretchedness coz unless he gets to pour out his "oh so dreadful ten years of unrequited love", the author would have made the story all about him and the main couple is just a distraction.
Coz look at how smooth their relationship suddenly becomes LMAO. Gosh I feel so bitter at how dragged out that was
1. Their shift in friendship to lovers is vague. Must be the suspension bridge working there. It's not just the "intimacy" but the lack of explicit romantic acknowledgement. So somehow the romance feels forced rather than "omg, they really are in love"
2. Family dynamics is so alienating. My mindset just doesn't click with something so indirect and cold. But it is giving "practical and realistic" with the way it imposes "self-actuality" in being a CEO or someone worth standing beside the other. It's just really cold. Esp with how the apologies came and went, relationship strained and cut off, and the ever consistent controlling attitude of the dad.
3. It just feels like a waste or a shame (can't find a word that weakens the negative connotation) that it relies heavily on reading between the lines and a few nuggets of gold to remind you that they're not just friends (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
Hurt me more than it should. I know apologizing itself is difficult, especially when it seems too late and I'd rather wallow in regret. But I also understand how deeply uncomfortable it is to receive an apology that I thought I was ready for until it happens.
I have mixed feelings with glossing over the process of "we had a deep talk". It feels "too easy", but also just right because it makes it their "father-and-son" moment (even if it's fiction). Besides it pulls me away from investing too much emotion lol.
However, I feel mostly glad they had that implied talk because (this is me projecting) the last time I received an apology, they didn't bother waiting on me to vent or reply. It was so one-sided and done in the most vicious self-centered way.

Their bickering are cute and all but that's mostly what these chapters are now. Bickering. I appreciate the art, the time it takes, but the story has been stagnating...
