I suppose I can't call it a waste of money cos every cent help us pay the mangaka to keep writing but what sux the most is there's no further volumes available to buy which is killing me!!!!
I love that we get Kan-Chan's story and am excitedly looking forward to seeing how brilliantly this mangaka is going to redeem him and develop his character however, that being said; there is absolutely no excuse for that level of domestic violence But I have no doubt that the mangaka will pull off a beautifully sad story to humanise Kan-Chan's character and put him on the path of self forgiveness and change (although in real life that shit should never be romanticised or without punishment).
Hmm...True about the punishment however people who has done cruel things like that are capable of change too. I've taken group therapies and heard many crazy and scary things but I can also tell that person wants to get better and change.
Yes @Erias, I'm a massive advocate of giving everyone the opportunity and chance to change. I'm even looking forward to seeing Kan-Chan get his happy ending but that same theory has to also be given to rapists, murderers, pedophiles and other types of individuals wanting to change for the better. The reality outside the world of manga and romance reaches far beyond a simple happily ever after and although many of these individuals seek change and forgiveness (which most of the genuine ones deserve), the victims will always be the ones remembering and having it effect their lives forever. My point is that it's all good to romantise dark characters however, in the hands of highly impressionable, young teenage girls (and boys) reading these types of stories; a stronger message needs to be drawn to ensure they do not fictionalise and accept these situations so lightly.
I definitely agree with you! What really bothered me was the fact that Kan never apologized to Yumi or verbally admitted that he felt sorry for what he did to Yumi. Also, Shuuna just seems to accept the fact that Kan abused his ex-lover flippantly which makes me angry since abuse should never be viewed so lightly. While I'm happy that Kan got his happy ending, his actions cannot be justified and I find myself unable to really like him.
And people keep saying "wow, Kan is so strong for seeking help and trying his best not to beat an S.O ever again" which leaves me flabbergasted because not beating your partner is NOT some amazing feat to be applauded.
@mina, yes it's a little disturbing to know that a younger group of readers may get a watered-down and romantic idea of abuse after reading this but on the positive side; Kan-Chan's story is still ongoing, so hopefully we get more storyline that's focused on real redemption. I'm hoping for a meeting with both couples, with lots of tears, apologies and grovelling - not to say that it'll ever enough in the real world, but it would be awesome to see. Possibly even Yumi giving him a smack in the face (?) - again, not ever enough considering the amount of abuse he endured for years, but still nice to imagine.

I agree. I literally avoided this manga at first because that first chapter picture. I was like: "OMFG THAT LEG! THAT ART! HORRIBLE! THE STORY MUST BE HORRIBLE AS WELL THEN!" For like a few months, until I ran out of manga to read then I was like: "I should probably give this a chance." Then I did! And it was like 1000x better than what I judged from the cover of the manga. So uh yea, long story short, PLEASE CHANGE THE COVER PICTURE.
