Idk why ppl have this habit of making such a big deal outta this. Can't they just consider it like a twist and a way to start the plot. I mean dude it occurs to often in yaoi, if u don't wanna read gtfo. Why make all the fuss? Can't they see that the rape also kinda built the story. I mean r u kids? U have to judge how the story develops due to or after rape. Don't judge the rape cause no one is here for it, judge the story.

Because many think it romanticizes rape and perpetuates rape culture. But as you said, 9 times out of 10 it is merely a plot device to bring the couple together. The other times, it is taken much more seriously and handled more realistically.

I think, thats their main personalities. So if theyre less than that, this story will be mediocre. And people will just get bored coz its a cliche.

Romanticizing rape culture? Lol. Do u think everyone who comments these shit thinks that? Do ppl even understand they have to read the story not just the rape? Everyone is sane and knows rape is a crime. But finder series has got a rating of 9.6 with idk how many rape scenes. So how do ppl suddenly change and shout different things? It just useless crap they comment. It's the plot and story that matters. Cause what we do is assess a story. Painter of the Night also got a twisty story but with a rape start and I don't think there would be a better start than rape to depict seme's personality in there and to pull Nakyum gradually outta his like. Even the authors that write these must condemn rapes. Everyone knows this. So why the hell should ppl should RAPE bullshit in the comment section. Can't they see the tags and fuck off if its rape? It's basically that even they know that stories with rape can actually have a good plot and they read it. It's this two facedness of these ppl that's loathsome.

Well fucking said. I guess they'll turn a blind eye for the other stories that also has rape tag or plot if the story art or the character is beautifully drawn and is widely popular. They're preventing others from reading this beautiful story. And it's not even a fucking hardcore rape but they make it sound so fucking bad. Oh my fucking god. I didn’t say I agree with them. Someone asked why people are complaining about it, and yes, I think that the majority of the people doing the complaining are complaining because that is what they think. But I agree with what you are saying here. In a lot of these cases, there is more to the story than just the rape. And if people do not like it, they should find a different story to read.
