This really needs to be studied because it was funny. It was serious. It was heartwarming it was tearjerking. It was a masterpiece. There was literally no flaws to this. The only flaw was at it ended, and that’s not a real flaw. Each character was done so in such an exquisite way it felt like dining at a five star restaurant reading this. This is often brought up in great Web comics, and it deserves its place. Absolutely.
I think it’s really silly to blame King for acting like this since it’s in character for him. He is a character ruled by guilt. At first it was guilt for letting his sister die, then the fairy forest, then helbram, then Diane, and so on. So it makes sense that he will still feel guilty over the abandonment of his oldest since they was stolen from him and Diane. It also makes sense that he would think Mertyl would be fine bc Mertyl has been hiding EVERYTHING he was feeling and he trusts his son enough to not read his heart constantly. Hopefully they can talk this out like a family
Rereading this is so fun not because it’s good, but because I always get the same emotion out of it and it’s that the bottom and Riku should beat the top with hammers. He won’t ever change. BEAT HIM WITH HAMMMERS
I think the story has an insanely good premise, and the art is amazing, but the execution leaves so much to be desired. I love how much of a slow burn it is well still being comedic, because in the beginning, they are strictly friends with benefits and barely friends. And I think Reo’s characters last storyline can still be done tastefully, but this wasn’t because no one took it seriously. He is actively being raped can someone please help him? Like if there was a side story to this about him trying to be better, trying to seek forgiveness, his victim still not wanting anything to do with him, and him moving on and finding someone who actually loves him could be good. that is not what happens
So I’m coming back to this after I finished where the first comment I made while starting to read it. I still think his brother and his sister-in-law were willing to let him sacrifice his life without an end I do like the fact that they felt guilty about it. They didn’t do anything about the feeling of guilt, but they did feel guilty, which is nice. I actually enjoyed the villain of the second half her life was ruined, and she was expected to keep going, and the happiness of both princes was rubbed in her face every day. At least, when the second Prince was unhappy, she can feel happy in that, but he got to have his happy and ever after while ruining so many other peoples lives and they don’t really talk about that because they keep pushing and I get that but if you guys are going to go into, it, truly go into it. I think peony was extremely naïve when she gave that speech to her because she truly has nothing to live for at that point which is an interesting parallel. I think she was willing to die as soon as she started her plan, and I respect her for it. I think the side couple was amazing. I would love to read more about them and I think even though I started this with rather harsh feelings about literally every character, I ended it wishing well on everyone. Even if plot points didn’t play out to where I would’ve wanted them to go. I don’t think it was bad for an attempt because other stories have not attempted this. I love when leads get their chance to shine, and I hope to see more stories like this I really do.
The way Hestia and Michael treat Richt is kinda gross like the way they just constantly let him sacrifice himself and his own happiness and his own wants and needs for them is entirely disgusting like this isn’t a happy family. The fact that Richt is built up to be this own scary man, but he can’t even fight for his own happiness makes him seem kind of pathetic honestly. When it was explaining his backstory, I was like this man is insanely suicidal, not actively, but in the way, he lets himself be torn apart, just to give others pieces of himself. The award he got for becoming a traitor to the Empire, even if it was faked and exile. It’s not like he took care of himself up there and was content with being alone, he hated being an exile, so what was the goal? What was the plan? If he was content, I think it would be better because at least he made his bed and lied in it but he hates his bed, so why the fuck did he make it like that? I don’t know I love the main character but I’m not getting the idea of a happy family that they try to keep selling and it’s pissing me off. I don’t care how his older brother and his wife used him because he doesn’t see that they used him.
The villain and his group was wasted on a plot that was important in the beginning but ended up being so stupid like if he’s the big villain why is he on his knees begging? I don’t expect redemption from any of the villains cast but don’t make them seem so pathetic bc then why did we sit though all this if they were just that pathetic.
I’m actually not mad at any of the characters like I believe they are all acting pretty reasonable even the prince because he was never in love with the Saintness. He was just using her in order to get the crown, and I think she was using him in order to be protected. And that makes sense so it makes sense why he doesn’t really care about her as a lover, but cares about her as a business partner, and wants to make sure she’s safe in order to protect the sanctity of their deal, but not because he genuinely cares. we see this all the time with FL and MLs so it’s kind of refreshing to get it from another character whose neither.
I really hope she gets closer with the brothers because it seems like unlike other stories they do genuinely care about her, but there are other things in play such as the older brother’s crush (which I think is really interesting because for all we know, it could be just as one-sided as her crush on the prince which makes the lines he tells her even more heart wrenching because he knows they can apply to him too. Especially the line that goes “she should be over her sided crush by now” or something like that like it’s just so good) and the father. I understand stories where the older brother is completely unsalvageable like “death is the only end for the villainess” but I think it’s so much more powerful when you can get two siblings, who have both wrong to each other to be like the way you treated me and the way I treated you were both awful let’s be better.
I would love to read the novel and find out how the characters are written in that, because it honestly seems like the most stereotypical character would be the ML who I’m guessing is the knight the brothers, and the prince seem to be very complex characters, or at least more complex than what is normally found in stories like this. With the pinnacle of it all being the female lead because she is the most human, but insanely bad ass character I have read about. Also the original “villainess” especially the fact that she is to be friends with the saintness. Like I’m so intrigued because it does so much that its peers shy away from. Because they just would’ve made the saintness a bitch to be blunt which I’m hoping isn’t the case.
His Relationship with him is so interesting because they are definitely in an abusive relationship more so than any other character. It would be funny if it wasn’t so realistic like oh wow.
Like this is definitely one of my top 10 stories because everything is so good. The fact that both of them are so traumatized by their respective past that they couldn’t see that the other person was suffering is amazing.
I liked the story kind of split itself down the middle and had the first half focus on how the FL wasn’t happy in her marriage due to the fact that her husband just wasn’t attentive to her and didn’t seem to care about her and how she laughed, but eventually that got resolved, and it turned to how the husband was unhappy in the marriage, because he felt like he had to provide for her, and he felt like he wasn’t attracted enough for her (due to racism) like there wasn’t anything she could’ve told him at that point because he grew up with it instilled him.
I know people have a lot of complaints about the ML but people forget the toll racism has I’m the effects of those who are marginalized by it. Despite being conventionally, attractive and muscular, he still felt ugly and not attractive enough for her being fair. Pale princess is 100% realistic and understandable because he was told for all of his life that he just wasn’t good enough in anything. And so when the one person who he actually loved rejected him it makes 100% sense that his first jump would be to kill himself because his birth mom only uses him, his birth dad and stepmom actively hate him, his own work associates prefer his wife over him like without his life he truly has nothing to live for. The only thing that I didn’t like but I can’t complain about because it’s very realistic is no one took him seriously when he was like I’m going to kill myself.
I see a lot of people saying how this is a redemption story and this is how you do redemption right talking about the male lead and while I have agree, I also think that people neglect the redemption story of the female lead. She essentially went from hating her husband to seeing him as a person something she’s never done before. And you can feel the sorrow she feels for never doing this before. she was by his bed until he woke up, something you typically see with the male lead to the female lead but here it was reversed. Normally you only see how the male lead needs the female lead which is why everyone like “oh my gosh I can’t believe she went back to him.” But here it was shown that the female leads needs the male lead just as much and that is what makes them a great couple. They need each other and they love each other and for the first time they see each other.
i’m overall I really enjoyed the message of the story that you can heal from your traumas. It may seem like a sisyphean task but it can be done. And how trauma doesn’t mean you deserve to be completely written off. You still deserve love because everyone deserves love in some form or way. I hope everyone who is reading this has a great day because you deserve it
The best character in this entire story is the brother because he is victimized by everyone in the story who matters essentially. His own brother is stronger than him and it’s kinda mean to him which is fine but he is like extra sensitive towards that stuff so it’s harsh. His parents didn’t really want him to come out as he did they don’t really blame him for it but he definitely wasn’t a favorite child. His own brother wants to fuck him. he is in love with essentially sees him as a game and is particularly cruel to him until he tell him that he’s fed up with it through tears. Someone please save him
I wonder how they’re gonna handle the Brother because I think he’s such an interesting character but I feel like they’re just gonna throw him in jail and that’s it. Which wouldn’t be the worst. But I feel like that’s such a waste of a character like he became such a villain that the characterization couldn’t keep up because apparently he did this for multiple men and then just dropped them, but if other people knew that then how did it get this far? How did it get this bad? I love the cop, but I just feel like the villain was wasted and that he’s not a real character.
He’s more like that caricature, which is really sad because everyone in this piece is just so realistic even the guy who was his friend who hates him now I’m also now realizing was also wasted because he’s probably just being thrown away too even though I think he’s a much better character then give credit for. And I wouldn’t mind if he ended up with someone/redemption arc although I feel like this is wrapping up with no side story or second season.
HOWEVER, if one does happen a while, I would prefer if they don’t become close good friends again because both of them do have valid reasons for being mad at each other. I just hope they just don’t hate each other anymore and can understand why the other person is mad at them or more so the main character understands why his ex friend was mad at him since the ex-friend already understands what he did was wrong
Theodore was 100% in the right in his plan especially because Arnold was such a god awful brother. Like he just wants to do anything he can for his brother and his brother is both neglecting him and being rude to him and acting like he is at leech. So it makes sense that’s a natural progression of that is suicide. And so he tries to do that. His brother stops him, then slaps him. Tells him to value his life because apparently Arnold values his brother life and then when he starts crying and apologizing, he tells him to calm down and then leave him there. Like he’s still not a good brother I feel like I’m being gaslit. And then Theodore disappears into the background cast like what the hell!?!? Was he literally just used as background fodder for Arnold’s development. To show what that Arnold is a good big brother when in fact he is not. Like I actually really enjoy this however, this is the one part that just is yikes like you can show him being a good person, but this does not help
I think the fact that people don’t even know who this man is off the top of their head, and they have been reading this, since the very beginning proves that the author has failed in anything having to do with Woojin. Like you tell people with the red haired guy, and they still don’t know who that is because he’s so unimportant he’s literally been in three chapters in the entire series and one of them was in the side story. And the times he appeared, Woojin tells him he’s not as important to him as his best friend which would be nice if his best friend didn’t instantly drop him the minute he got his dick wet. But now we’re supposed to believe if he’s been in love with him the entire time? Maybe he’s just really cold to the people he’s in love with? I can totally see that for him but that’s a lot of cope and I feel like it’s me trying to justify bad writing
I hope these characters get together because they’re actually so much more interesting than they appear and deserve happiness as well as becoming more than just a character in someone else’s story (Tsugumi and Megumi respectively) they each bring up a point that isn’t seen very often and these type of stories, which is the hatred of one second gender, but for a different reasons. Subaru hates his second gender because it’s forever means he’s an outsider to the world of omegas and Alphas. He will never fall in love with someone at first sight because of a scent and the fact that the person he’s been in love with for years fell in love with an omega over something like that was just a knife that twisted in his back. The worst part is in this world. It would be better to be one or the other, because no one really cares about betas. People have stronger feelings about Alpha or omega, but no one has strong feelings about Betas. They are, like him, just there. Inami hates his second gender for the stereotypes, and the pressure that comes with being an alpha. While I like his plot I just like Subaru’s so much more because his relationship with his respective main character is much deeper than Inami’s especially because you can see how their friendship is fraying. I definitely feel like they’re going to end up as friends who don’t really talk to each other as both of them slowly let go
So I know antagonists have to exist and not everyone can be redeemed, however I think he’s too good looking to throw away like arguably top three for me. Mind you I skimmed this so I don’t know everything he did only stalking and being aggressive during sex and cheating but everyone has flaws that therapy can fix
The fact that he didn’t want to apologize to woo Jin until his bf told him to is INSANE like are they really friends?
I love that fact that his father isn’t as bad as the other dad but he’s still allowed to talk about how bad of a father he was like that’s so nice
I always felt so bad for the brother because he never gets his parents love or respect back after giving up everything for his family. He loses all his friends and the person he ends up marrying is only with him due to his sister like he really should have escaped his family they don’t love or care about him.
I’m so glad so many people are starting to see the light about him. We are. He isn’t a bad person. He just goes about what he wants in a very bad way. Because he ultimately wants the same exact thing that the ML wants which is to protect his loved ones but Oushi wants to keep them in a place where he can protect them forever them while ML wants to do it in a different way. I will be sad if he ends the series single I will be pissed simply because of the genre and this is one of those genres where nobody ends up single so if he does, I will be mad, but his love interest would’ve been introduced already.
