My theory is that Kurihara was first place this time and this is why:
1) He did say that he was ABLE to close the gap between their grades last time, so high possibility that he was ABLE to make it this time around
2) He's living a healthier life now: Free from parental academic expectations; because he already talked to his mother, eats properly, and is more carefree and relaxed in the head because he's actually living his life.
3) I'd like to think that if Kurihara did win the bet to whoever gets first, he'll want to study at HIS spot in the library, which is actually shown right after they looked at the list. I think it's his petty payback since Kawase took his spot in the library in the beginning.

Whenever these flashbacks come to play, I feel regretful for Navier and Sovieshu's relationship. Present Sovieshit aside, I can sympathize with the high priest. I mean, they were so happy together, they grew up together, and they managed the kingdom amazingly together. The fact that they were literally bonded and familiarized with each other ever since they were kids and then break off because of a concubine that's childish af compared to the mature and elegant empress is ╥﹏╥ Navier and Sovieshu's nature didn't align when they grew up (Navier's maturity limited her when showing expressions, compared to Rashta's strightforwardness + the strain when it comes to producing an heir)
I forgot abt this story, but I remember enough to read the updates without getting confused. I forgot Nayeon's character that I don't know whether I hated her like the people in comments or I felt neutral towards her? All I'm sure of is that I'm reading for Noah's happy ending.
Can someone explain me why Nayeon is annoying or undeserving of Noah?
