I wouldn't want to be stuck inside someone's mediocre imagination either but can someone explain to me her exact psychological situation ?
I know she has not been ok the entire time and she was just distracting herself with main leads. Now all her work has lead to nothing. Anything else ?

Hess is mostly obsessed with Kaelus and she literally saw the man kill himself because of what his friends did and at the time they didn't even ask or show any interest in him.
I think of it as if you saw these two people out casting your best friend and they go into a deep depression about it and almost kill themselves. Then when you talk to them and make a connection with them then talk about how the other 'friends' were bad they tell you to forgive them because everything's fine. Not only that but then the person still hangs around them while you still have that image of them from when they were depleted and everyone acts as if everything is okay.

I think there's an aspect of when someone hurts the person u love, even if the loved one forgives them it doesn't mean you will. Hess saw Kael being driven to su!c!de twice so even if Kael says he forgives them it hurt her cuz it doesn't feel like enough justice has been done to ease her conscience. Coupled up w the fact that she's not originally from this world, so she doesn't feel like she truly belongs and has no personal ties to anything in the world other than Kael. So when Kael forgives it's like he's choosing Diana all over again. Ofc we know that he's doing it for his and Hess's sake, but that's not how Hess sees it.
Is he going to trick those women again ? I hope not :(
