honestly sangwoo was such a tragic character, the most tragic of the enitre series. the way he turned out was just the outcome of his environmenta and its so sad. it kind of baffles me how much people hate him despite knowing all he went through- his mum had serious mental issues while he was growing up, his dad was physically abusive, he watched his dad die in front of him, his mum tried to poision him multiple times, he got sexually assulated bu his mother and watched her take her own life before she literally cursed him. all of that before he was an adult and and didnt get therapy once!! That doesnt excuse his action, but it should at least help you to sympathize :( and tbh he only really killed a handfull of people (and sexually abused yoonbum), meanwhile ive seen people defend villians in other forms of media who commit literal genocides plus other atrocities, and they get nowhere as much hate as sangwoo! its acc unreal and it sucks bc sangwoo is such an amazingly written character, that is an undisputable fact. Maybe its bc hes the mc of a story in the "BL" genre bc i know for a fact if his ass showed up in jjba or some other shounen, he would have a fanclub of people saying he commited crimes bc he was in a "silly goofy mood" lmaooo. and yoonbum isnt an angel either btw, he is an unhinged stalker he broke into sangwoos house and jerked off in hes bed! It's probably just that we explicitly watch him chain up, rape, torture and kill people with great detail and gore. Tomura kills more by touching the ground. Sangwoo has to do more to kill a person, it's more personal, and he doesn't just let it end quickly for them either. Ultimately, one show is about a lot of ppl including Shigaraki, but killing stalking is literally about 2 so it spends a lot more time going into detail about Sangwoo and everything he does.
