The hands, the dicks (for the first time in my life the lightsabers saved my life), and some of the face angles. Porn stars can be happily married and in monogamous partnerships. There are also polygamous couples and swingers. Real people exist in these dynamics and are not inherently unhappy. People set rules for their relationship and some of the rules or lack there of will not jive with you. That’s okay, why, because you are not in their relationship. And for y’all saying sex work is not real work. Call me crazy but I don’t really see a fundamental difference between the dragon and the king. They both force mc to do stuff he doesn’t want to and have an unhealthy attachment to him. He was their savior because of childhood trauma and he watched them grow up. The only difference is that it would either be a brother x brother relationship or father x son which sucks either way. I don’t understand hating the king and not hating the dragon when they are the same person but in different circumstances. Like genuinely tell me, if mc decided to run away from both of them would their responses be THAT different.

I was having a great time then BAM racism. As a black person I was not offended by the chibi portrayal of the lips it was how he was drawn in the normal art style. It was horrendous. I don’t know how to make you understand that they always draw black people to look ugly. Our lips aren’t lumpy like that, you can “exaggerate” the lips and still make them look flattering. Tons of artists do it by adding an extra line on the top and bottom of the lip. Hell, I draw them with two full curved lines that end at the edge of the lip. “What was he supposed to have thin lips?” I don’t want to insult your intelligence so I’m just gonna give grace and assume you’re 11. Have you never seen a character with full lips that weren’t sambo? Is your entire reference to black illustrated characters One piece and pre 2018 dragon ball.
And for those saying it’s just two panels, if without reason, emphasis on without reason, a comic throw out a slur or mocked East Asian eyes would that be fine because it takes up a small portion? Let’s be rational here, you can enjoy the media without playing devils advocate for racism. We can recognize that the author MOST LIKELY had no ill intent while still recognizing it was wrong and because it is wrong people are allowed to feel negatively towards it. In fact, you are allowed to have petty reasons for not liking a piece of media, and I’m sure there are examples where that is the case for you. Shutting down people who are rightfully upset so you can have an eco chamber of a DISCUSSION board is unproductive and puts you in a bad light to people who experience empathy or at least are socially literate.
If your response to this is “grow up” or “it’s not that deep” or petty insults don’t waste your time typing it out, I don’t care, you clearly don’t care, let’s keep it pushing sweetheart.
Something about the art feels AI generated. It might not be but the style changes so much and the old man’s beard changes sizes on two panels in the first chapter. Everything is also front facing with barely any dynamic poses, it’s weird.
