The only reason he treats her like that is because the king has a ring that controls the duke(but idk to what extent) the dukes first weakness(his wife) the king killed her in front of the daughter (fl) when she was younger because the duke didn’t listen to his orders. So basically if he shows any signs that he cares for her she is as good as dead basically. And obviously communicate is key for a healthy relationship

I enjoyed reading it. There was some lack of communication here and there, which might get annoying if it continues for too long, but it was not dragged out in this case. Its around 60 chapters, so not that long, but it doesn't feel short either. It has a nice balance of everything.
