There is a major hole in your logic: The author herself doesn't want it, so the most important person of all (the author) won't be happy in this situation which, she has reiterated multiple times, would NOT happen. Get that into your thick skull and stop asking for it. Don't preface it by saying nice things like how it's for everyone's happiness when it's literally just you pushing for your own desires and completely disregarding what the author wants to do with HER story. Fargo has expressed her frustration so many times, why can't we readers respect her choice?

Personally I like this manga and the MC because she's silly, and it doesn't get much more serious. This might just not be the right story for your taste!
I think her being a ‘clown’ is because she’s completely feeling detached by her new world. She’s always had that perspective of a viewer instead of an actual individual whenever she gets to experience major parts of the story coming to life. And that’s why she’s so dead set about having to see it herself. And when she notices that the story is progressing with something she doesn’t want (Ameri Cano hating on the female lead bc of the prince) she decides to be that certain someone from the background that causes a scene to avoid unnecessary blunder that is somehow connected to her. In a way, she’s still thinking inside the box.
But in the recent chapters, she already realized that she’s not somebody from the ‘outside’ but an individual from this world, with family and friends who loves her. [she actually realized a different thing but this is still kinda relevant but no to spoiler]
She’s still silly, although I think it’s hilarious... sometimes admittedly cringe tho lmao. There’s eventually a pretty nice romantic development, and mostly everyone reading starts rooting for this one particular asshole haha for him she’s no side character anymore that’s for sure. His chemistry with MC is awesome. If you’re into romantic comedy I do think it’s worth to keep going :)
