What I don’t get is how Taiga can pretend how he didn’t know how his actions could hurt Makihara. Like that is a deliberate action, and in Japan, EVERYONE communicates through assumption. It’s so mainstream that they have THREE game series on essentially “reading the room” and how to do it in a life simulation. THREE games, y’all. I’m finding it exceedingly hard to imagine that he didn’t know what he was doing. (The game is called: Kuukiyomi: Consider It. It was such a hit in Japan, they made two other games after the first lol)
I mean maybe he was doing it to fit in or blend in a bit? Which, although understandable, is incredibly cruel to Makihara. The days that the story showed him walking in on those “cheating” scenes were of high importance. I felt so bad for him, and a little angry at Taiga tbh. Like you’d go above and beyond for some woman you’re not intimate with, and you can’t even talk to your partner? Like talking bro. The bar is literally in hell, and you still couldn’t reach it. Feels bad man.
