• tons of detail (maybe too much? It drags)
• little to no romance
• long chapters… without romance.
I think the romance will happen eventually

I like the slow buildup. Most go right into it but it’s putting details together slowly.
This is a good way of thinking about it. I like fast pacing, myself.

The only character that is even REMOTELY likable and not annoying in this story is the Duke. What a shame.
What do u mean? The maid isn't annoying she is just trying not to start a conflict. Tbh the duke is childish but sweet. And the crown prince is annoying but our maid is strong but trying not to take the demise route
For me Ibelima is getting annoying. I know it’s not her fault but she is obviously on the slower side and that pisses me off. I’ve seen my fair share of fl who rely on mls all the time, and can’t think for themselves. Ibelina seems to be turning more and more into one of these weak fls.
Yes agreed. Like when does “avoid conflict” turn into being complicit? Like you ALLOWED it to happen because you didn’t say anything. I know being direct is hard, but sometimes you owe it to others to do it anyway. I hate weak female leads.
I’m really sad that he feels uncomfortable with sharing his situation with his friends because of how judgmental their comments are. My friends say the WILDEST stuff but it’s because they know we’d trust them on how to handle their own situation best. We’re not gonna tell a friend how to make themselves happy. (Unless it’s like illegal like drugs. Then yeah, we’re gonna say something.)

Saku was a difficult character. It made the story hard to read. If it weren’t for the comments saying there was a second story, I would have abandoned reading this one.
