People should realize that a boy can love another boy "even" in a shounen story.
Mika literally gave his life for yu... and his last words were "I LOVE YOU" not "YOUR ARE MY FAMILY" or something like "WE WILL ALWAYS BE FAMILY" but nooo he said "i love you" bc yu is literally the only person that mika has and loves.

i really loved her character in the anime and manga (at the beginning) but after she realized her feelings for yu (LITERALLY IN S1 OUT OF NOWHERE) her character became all about "yu" and about how she loves him.
I don't even understand HOW she fell in love with him they were not even that long together...
And im not saying that bc i ship mika and yu and ik that mikayuu with probably not even be canon.. but if shinoa and yu are gonna get together i never will understand how... bc it would be so forced. Yu never even saw her in that way (at least in my eyes)

Unpopular opinion ahead, so give me the benefit of the doubt:
First, I'll confess that I'm a fujoshi who read an unhealthy amount of yaoi, a heavy shipper of many pairs of male characters, and thus read an unhealthy amount of slash fanfiction,... -> so there's no way I'm homophobic here.
Second, I've shipped MikaYuu for so long and when the moment finally comes, I feel like my brain is just trying to deny me the happiness so I won't be too devastatingly disappointed if it turns out OTHERWISE...
Now to my unpopular opinion:
I think it could be familial love. yes, seriously. if they are real brothers, related by blood, of course Mika could say "I love you" too Yuu before he died, perfectly reasonable. Or imagine this: if Mika and Yuu were girls, Mika is like a "big sister" who always protects Yuu, and it would be reasonable also for Mika to say I love you to Yuu before departing, and no one would bat an eyelash and say there's romantic love between the two of them.
Of course there's no doubt that Mika and Yuu love each other, but there are many forms of love, and this circumstance is not exactly clarifying anything here.
I would rather a situation that is not life-or-death, maybe on a normal day, Mika just holds Yuu's hand and confesses, or a situation where Mika is jealous of Shinoa for being close to Yuu. Oh my fujoshi heart T.T
