Uhhh..People tend to like the stories that is fluffy, has no problem, no angst, simple. But this story has a great plot, and the meaning of their actions is deep. I think many people is just close minded. Even when it comes to other stories, they rate it low just because the two main characters doesn't get together. Not all stories have a happy ending but it still can be great. Well this story has an acceptable and good ending.
