The story is still interesting so people will continue to read it but they can still acknowledge the drastic change in art style too. If you ordered your favourite meal but on that day it was served with slightly more garlic, less salt, a bit cold but still edible, you will eat it but complain the meal wasn't well prepared this time round. Criticism of the art direction does mean criticism of the story.

If the original updater doesn't update it on the same day as release then someone else does it. This was happening over and over again. So nami chan gave in.
