Umm this is why you should probably read the novel before assuming (the fact you're not hating doesn't make any difference to my point that your opinion that 3-5 times would be enough to think thoroughly on how to escape is based on little information, none of it from the promo itself). There is nothing in the promo to say that her life started from the beginning 40 times for one. For two, even in the promo it is made clear the Crown Prince is an utterly 'i*****' @$$hole. For three, the crown prince's response to any feelings of unfairness she may have had, indicates that he knows more than he's letting on. For four, how do you know she would have been able to achieve the desired effect even if she had performed the way she had in her current life, in any one of her past lives instead? For five, there is also nothing in the oneshot to indicate that her struggles to remain alive were linear or had typical, mundane solutions.
