well that's not really how DID works anyway. they don't just seamlessly merge back into one "whole" person as they are two completely separate whole people already. Dongjae would have lost Tae-oh, who was his support and showed him that he deserved to be treated better so to lose him would have been devastating. both of them, separately, are mentally as healthy as they can be. they just share the body still.
