Thats what I want to know. Tbh the fact that the MC hasn't realized that someone is trying to kill him is starting to annoy me.

From what I've read from spoiler threads, it's MC's old esper partner who was said to be killed/deceased. Idk how or why he's back but he's apparently the main antagonist.

I'm currently reading the novel but have to wait each week since it's pay to read ahead.
And yeah his old esper basically said it was all for him for whatever reason.
They're confronting each other in chapter 3 of volume 4, will let everyone know more once I can read the next chapter if interested lol
Also ML already suspected the other esper to be alive still (while Mc was spiraling) so he never gave up hope on Mc after his death either.
I thought this was huge when I read it.
He also hogs all the info on Accent.

Also some additional "spoiler" if you'd like:

ML has the cutest interaction with Mc while he was running a fever and neglecting himself again, forcing him to shower, supporting him, making him eat a bit.
By the end Mc was basically in his arms in bed and mumbling like it's okay to stay with his instructor but tomorrow he'll kick him out of bed and so on, dropping honorifics the entire time.
So I think he's known that Mc is the Guide he lost but I'm still unsure when it happened.
It's just that this chapter sealed the deal.

There's a couple of things happening to them but honestly I can't make much sense of it either, it's basically foreshadowing for the big reveal which I haven't got to. But here's roughly what let up to the scene:
Mc gets introduced to the Esper who is supposed to aid them in an operation to rescue some North Korean Guides from an experimental laboratory set up by Accent at the border, Mc finds cryptic documents probably related to the body swap and also a document on his former Esper. He also meets a fish hybrid Esper that was experimented on but it gets killed by the Esper accompanying them.
At the end this Esper betrays them and goes off with Accent and when he uses his telekinetic ability which Mc recognizes to be the one of his previous Esper, he's starting to have doubts. So he feels confused and upset.
He contacts his doctor friend and they actually dig out the grave of his former Esper partner and find it empty.
It starts raining, he gets home and this is basically where he gets the fever and the scene above happens.

Thanks again, I really appreciate it! I'm not patient enough to wait for the chapters so I guess it's time to read the novel

In my reply I posted everything leading up to this so yeah it's still somewhat far ahead sadly T_T
But it can also be a good thing when an artist doesn't skip too much and follows the novel faithfully!

Yeah I think his wife is the lady that called him honey at the funeral

And a lady who's calling him '' honey '' so yeah he's married.

That may be his mom.

I thought she's his mom but this makes more sense now that I think about it lol

She obviously looks young maybe younger than him how could she be his mom? + he's wearing a ring.
