I think she was trying to protect her niece because she knew her husband liked little girls so she wanted her to look more like a boy so maybe he would leave her alone. That's just a different angle.
yeah now that you say it i understand now the hair cut and the boys clothings, but if she knows it why don't she go to the police i know it's not very good when it's amember of your family who have thoses kind of problems, but if she always cover for him maybe he did it to many people or he will continue to do it
Maybe it's a cultural thing. You know, women not going against men. I don't know she's pretty old, it seems like they might have some old time customs or traditions, you know, maybe it's a silent strength type of thing, hopefully to steer him in the right direction. I can't really speak for it myself.
