On a serious note, you really have to wonder how much of that love is genuine and how much of it stems from emotional dependency and Stockholm Syndrome. I mean, these aren't normal people but even then Bum had enough sense to want to escape at one point. Now that he's found someone who accepts him, of course he'd be desperate to maintain his place of belonging. This isn't to say that his feelings are fake ( I do think part of his feelings are genuine. Part.), but suppose someone sane came along and gave Bum all the love and affection he had been seeking and he could reciprocate those feelings as well. If in the end he chose SW, how much of it would be from love and how much of it from pity and "we just have so much history together?"
