The story is great however I don't understand in here and in other stories, device of the emperor and the empress from the most powerful family of the Empire, did not cause huge trouble for the emperor?! ...
when it comes to royalties, marriage is just a tool for two families to join forces and gain more power.
chasing out an empress would mean losing support of the most powerful ally.
it's like cutting the tree you are sitting on.
and if you do it for some commoner girl, you will lose support from all the noble families of the Empire.
court life is not so easy and monarchs are tied up with their own power. if they lose support they lose their heads...
