Honestly I've never like Lin. She has already been showing villain-like characteristics from time to time. It feels like she only acts nice from the outside so she'll be liked. If you think about it, someone of her position can do nothing but act nice despite her real nature, so that she can be favoured by other people (especially the emperor and empress) to survive. She also keeps saying she doesn't like the emperor, which might be true, but she has also acted jealous when the emperor favors the empress. Because if the emperor doesn't like her anymore, not a lot of people(who are in power) would have her back
