you guys being upset over this works portrayal of OCD/treatment, is so silly to me, the author in no way said or even portrayed that this is the reality of coping with mental disorders or anything like that. It is a work of fiction and it’s not like the ml “love” is what cured him of his illness. now about the discussion over consent It’s all valid!! the consent is dubious from the power imbalance (therapist/patient) but why is that why is shouldn’t be animated? Hitorijime My Hero was dubious as well with a student/teacher dynamic.
As someone with OCD, I don't find it offensive at all. I relate to shirotani alot throughout the story and sure the "treatment" is dubious at best but its a work of fiction it doesn't matter. people are weird for finding this problematic.
