So this arc has 3 organizations involved, The Continental Magic Association, Empire Special Forces of Magic & the Shadow Warriors.
Back then it was hella confusing on who is the enemy and who is in-charge to Serie assassination. So, all this time it was the Shadow Warrior's fault, they can't move on from their ideals so they act on their own. The Empire has tensions with Continental Magic Association but not to the point they would assassinate Serie. In short, the Empire has internal conflict and Serie & Frieren group just got caught with it.
Iris and the original Gideon are match for each other. She's a bitch and he's a piece of trash. So Gideon forced the prince (ML) to kill his lover (FL) even tho it's against his will so that he would return back time for that bitch Iris. The ML back then even say that he would do anything even without time reset. And now that they are in their second life it create misunderstanding for the FL cuz she believe that the ML killed her even tho he actually sincerely love her.
Ruby became the idol and star she always dreamed of, fulfilling both her own aspirations and Aqua's wish for her. Yet Aqua seems to have forgotten that his original wish was for Sarina to become an idol and live a happy life. But what about now? Ruby is trapped in a life of lies, concealing even her own feelings. This isn't what Ai wished for her children, nor what Gorou wanted for Sarina.

So, the author create a book filled her fantasies and Reeze is her self insert character. She got lucky that she reincarnated to it and lived with her fantasies but the system set the world into loop. I get that Reeze/Author is the villain here but the system is evil too like why would summon someone just to get looped (Reeze) & to get killed (Edith).
I get that Akane is the stable one here cuz she already knew Aqua plans but in the remaining chapters I hope they showed us Ruby point of view, to this as well. She's the most close one to Aqua since she was still Sarina. Even when the Hikaru as their dad reveal, the story doesn't include her side like how she feels about it.
Actually this one is totally different from the novel. From the spoilers I saw before, they say that the FL didn't forgive the ML. And they were only end up together when their kid is already 5yrs old. So, yah the manhwa is TOO RUSHED.

I get that he's dead, but I hope they don't rush the ending for the other characters. For example, Ruby/Sarina still haven't learned the truth about her biological mother. Did Kana become an actress again? And what about the side characters like Taiki? He's still their brother, so he'd probably have a reaction to Hikaru's death as well.
Isn't she a pregnant women? not to mention her due date is near. But the story made her attend a hunting competition, morning meetings that need to stand for long hours & now attend festival too.
