So he actually cared about her? What Happ in previous life then? Was he hypnotized or something? That seems very likely as I didn't think that he would just let his daughter die like that even if she wasn't his 'real' daughter. But he must know that she is! As it's really confusing!! Spoilers please!!!!!!

So Cosette was the daughter of his previous wife, and like he thought so too. I mean, she looked like him, and was given the name discussed by him and his previous wife. He didn't care for her but rather the reputation of his own family, so by killing off Keira it would look like he wasn't exactly weak and would so no mercy. I don't know anything about hypnosis, but we do know that his story isn't like Claude's from Who Made Me A Princess.

He also let his first wife be mistreated, abused and killed by his own family members...

Correction: It was the family of MC's Mother. But he still did nothing.
Now I can understand more why MC was the primary target of the demon.
He still an indecisive weak cowardly asshole.

Like why was uke getting so mad over a meal? You can just eat it and say you'll pay back later. It's kinda like those webtoons in which ML helps the FL and then FL gets mad at them instead of thanking them. Like it's okay to receive help sometimes when you're not capable enough, you can just keep that favour in mind and return it. You would be the one who's gonna suffer if they don't help you, so just be thankful. "I never asked for it" is the most pathetic line ever. Do people have to ask for everything? Do babies die because no one asked them to breathe? No they do it anyway without anyone asking them!
the uke was getting mad over the meal because he didn't have the money to pay the dude back and didn't want to eat free meals. why are you blaming the uke for being mad? the top was basically pressuring him into eating something he never asked for. people obviously don't have to ask for everything, but if you're doing for somebody else, you should be asking them if they're comfortable with it.
I think it’s because he keeps saying he’s poor which hurts his pride. In a school like that being poor is looked down upon and having someone remark on it in public isn’t helping his situation....at least that’s why I think he’s upset
oh shit that's a really good way to phrase the poor/pride situation in this scenario, i didn't know how to describe it. but yeah definitely don't think anybody wants to be reminded that they're poor all the time, get forced to do things via social pressure, and be given free things out of pity.
Because we don't want fucking handouts. I want to earn my bread, bit get fed by someone who's never known struggle a day in their goddamn life and had been eating from golden spoons since they were given baby food. Fuck that. Don't just give me shit I didn't ask for and expect me to be happy and give a shit. Sorry if this is rude but that's what this asshole who thought it was funny did to me a lot. Followed me around and bought me shit I didn't ask for them wanted me to be happy he got me some shit. If it's a random act of kindness you can't expect something back whether physical as in paying you back or mental as in treating you better. Throwing money doesn't solve shit.
Yikes not you blaming the victim tsk tsk
Let the boy have his pride also there's no such thing as a free meal you know you gotta pay back
pity is another form of mockery for us
